While more expensive than I really wanted, these are very easy to install and do a great job. The provided wire was much longer than I needed and the instructions didn't tell me I could cut to length... I did anyway. The meter can be tape mounted or attached with screws so being on an outboard motor, I opted for the tape. It's well worth the money to accurately be able to keep track of hours for proper oil change intervals... I added 2 Yamaha engines to our fleet and it surprised me how much difference there was in three weeks of use, one had 69 hours while the other had 130! Had I been guessing, I'd have had no clue when to change the oil.

Easy to install works hreat

Needed an hour meter for a Honda Handi 3000 generator. Very easy to install. Only one pickup wire and it wraps around the spark plug wire and fastens tightly with a zip tie. Give it 3-5 wraps and snug it tight; clip any loose ends. Cut the wire and tie to length. Mount the hour meter with tape or screws - I recommend screws and tape (3M Autobody tape - not the 2S-tape that comes in the package). I'm not a mechanic, but this hour meter looks like I paid the dealer $100 to install. When the engine is running an hourglass blinks on the left side, and hours count on the right side.

Long lasting

Seems like it will work good. Only I was missing 1 screw , no zip tie and it didn’t come with any 2 way tape. I know these items aren’t that big of a deal but when I have to pay close to $60 for something I should get everything in the package.
