I've been looking for this boom forever. It's perfect for an assistant to use on a run and gun photo shoot. Clients can freely move and the light can follow them perfectly. Or, you can hold it way out over your subject. The ball on the end makes it so my assistant doesn't get worn out quickly.

This thing is quick and heavy duty. The rubber ball allows your assistant to either hold it on the ground, or comfortably against their waist. It is a great tool to have for the photographer that uses an assistant to hold a light. It is heavy duty enough to hold my Paul C. Buff Einstein and softbox with a Vagabond Mini attached (with a bracket) to the pole.

It does the job and it's made very well. The large ball at the end is solid in the pole and will not damage the pole. This was the tallest and sturdiest extension I could find for my modifier.

The photoflex is perfect. I brought it to use out doors because the police do not want you to use a light stand because your blocking the people from walking on the side walk. So i bring someone to hold the photoflex while i take beautiful pictures. It works

This product when working is one of the best tools a true photographer can have in thier kit bag. The problem I'm having is they do not seem like a reliable product by Photoflex. I have bought two of these and was able to return the first one within 30 days with no issuses for a refund. It lost a clip that made the second level support stay closed. The second has turned into somewhat of an issue. It has completely come apart into three sections. I know based off the usage photos I have seen of this equipment, I was clearly under using its full potential and weight capacity. The next problem I have is Amazon where I bought from will not refund or replace it and sent me to Adorama. Adorama who actually sells it will not replace it or refund it sent me to Photoflex. Photoflex the maker of the product who customer service requires some touching up is out of stock and sent me back to Adorama. Will someone stand by the thier product, it was six weeks old when it came apart. I stongly reccomend that no professional shooter buy this product

I typically use Matthew's stands for all my meds but you can't beat the price, quality, and versatility of this item. Definitely a must for anyone who shoots with a lighting assistant.
