Works as expected

Purchased this docking station to connect my SurfacePro4 to dual Dell 23 inch monitors. After reading a pile of reviews I also purchased two active Mini display port to DVI adaptors and, following the advice found on the reviews, I downloaded and installed the latest updates. I've been running the dock now for a few days and I must admit I am completely surprised by it! It is well made, connects flawlessly, the monitors are crisp and do not flicker. The dock actually has some weight to it and stays put when connecting the tablet. To be honest I cannot tell the difference between using the tablet with the dock compared to the tower PC it replaced. I'm extremely happy and would recommend this dock to anyone. The surface dock is a must have in my classroom. I use my surface to power a large true touch monitor and many other features of my classroom. It is so nice to be able to have speaker access, display out, charging, printer access, direct internet access, and a slideshow clicker all connected or not with one simple magnetic plug. I can plug the dock in and have my class all ready for online quizzes, music, demos, presentations, etc. Then just unplug it and have my tablet back and ready to go. This dock feels very solid and high quality. Brand new, the dock is very expensive, but I purchased mine used, and it was much more reasonable.

I took a risk in buying a refurbished unit and I'd say that so far it has paid off. Only worry I have is that about once or twice per day, my 2 external monitors flicker and go dark for a few seconds and then they comeback on. This does not happen on my laptops screen and it did not occur on my previous set up with the same monitors, so I think its safe to say its this docking station that is causing this issue. If it get worse I'll contact CS, otherwise and while it worries me, I still can live with a couple flickering events per day.

Used an off brand/after market docking station for a couple of years, and it worked fine until recently. When I was looking for a replacement, I felt the cost difference between this branded product and after market was nominal. Very happy with this decision, you can feel the difference just in the weight. Plus it’s a cleaner install, and better connection, I was able to eliminate several cables.

I bought a Surface Pro to replace my old laptop, but was worried I'd be limited when it comes to adding screens. This dock is perfect, gives you the ability to add 2 screens and provides much needed additional ports. I bought "Used - Good", the box the dock came in was original but it looked like it stomped on and then was wrapped in tape. I bought this for the dock, not the box, and the dock and components work perfectly and are in near perfect condition. The price was right and shipping was fast. I'm happy with my purchase.

This makes life with a Surface so much easier. I recommended it to my mother-in-law.

I have 2 of these- one for home and one for work. I was soooo happy to find an interface that would work with my setups :)Sometimes, for no reason what-so-ever, the audio stops when it's hooked up to my LG monitors. No idea why, but it happens to both docks, is there a glitch? I have to disconnect the monitor from the dock and reattach 2-3 times before the audio comes thru. I would say it's the initial connection, but it happens randomly whether it has just been connected to the dock or it has been connected all day.
