Better than the WRTH IMO.
This is such a wonder thing to have if you are just starting or a seasoned professional radio listener. It is not as comprehensive as the WRTH but has a different purpose I suppose. I find I use it much more than the WRTH though! It also is on wider/taller paper so it's easier to read. One of my favourite things about this is one, the spiral spine which makes reading so much easier and in the back there is a blank "listener's log" which allows you to journal the date/time and frequency and some notes to what you were listening to. I also used this for my HAM radio log. Its just a nice thing to have and refer to and I can put notes on it from stuff I find on the internet so its always at my fingertips.Worth every penny!

Great overview for beginner or geek
Great overview of various radio mediums without overwhelming you like some books. Yes, lots could change in the world of radio and programming so I wouldn't rely on it for my sole source of specific program information, but again it's a nice summary of what's available. I really like the history and descriptions of the various radio mediums - AM, FM, Shorwave, etc. The format of the book is easy to read and navigate. I especially like the spiral bound pages. Great book for a beginner or just a radio geek like me :)

Best version of the WLG so far!
Version 7 of the Guide is the best version so far. I purchased Version 6 in January 2015 and it was informative and very useful. However, Version 7 seems to be easier to use. I use the guide for listening to shortewave and to help me find interesting stations and shows available on my Grace Internet / WiFi radio. The guide is the only source I have found that covers all the ways I can listen to any radio format, from the analog local AM/FM stations, to the thousands of worldwide radio stations available via shortwave and on the Internet - whether I listen on my tablet or PC or on my Grace receiver. Great source to use alongside with my copy of the 2016 version of the WRTH.

The Worldwide Listening Guide
If you are going to use this for SW or Ham listening, it is worthless. I have a previous edition and it has DX and Ham stations. Again, this new edition has very few actual frequencies.

Good book and information ..
A fine book that's loaded with information for Shortwave Listeners and even Hams. You'll find listening info on AM - FM - Shortwave - Streaming and Satellite radio. The book also gets into (explains) the newer HD AM and FM. Pertains mostly to / for English broadcast by time (UTC) to NA. Handy and well worth the money!

Very Good Book for Radio Enthusiasts!
This is a very handy and informative book. It covers the ins and outs of radio listening, including AM/FM/Short Wave/Streaming radio, and even satellite radio. On AM and FM, it also explains the newer HD AM and FM as well. The handy guide to finding programming by time (UTC world time) is very convenient, especially since it also has another similar guide for short wave. The only suggestions that I would make for improvements would be to add comprehensive radio reviews. With that, it might really fill the void left by the now-defunct Passport To World Band Radio.I highly recommend this book.

Technically helpful, but politically colored. My experience listening to am radio in western New York is not at all as described by the author.Contrary to his description as not community oriented programming with "local focus lost" is inaccurate and seems to be politically motivated.

Essential if a beginning SWL listener
Great guide for the beginner in SWL, as well as the veteran. The book will most definitely be more valuable to the beginner, but there is always something the vet can glean from it as well.
