Works strongly in a building that others would barely work if at all
The unit works very well and is strong where others had weak signals in the building I'm using it in which is a wiring nightmare! The only thing to see now is if it lasts a long time since it send a strong signal, the toner is sensitive and the connection and testing options. The only thing keeping it from being 5 stars is that the screw on the toner for the battery isn't recessed enough for some reason and sticks out past the body.

It works great though. Someone put in a new front door ...
Feels cheap so I don't expect it to last forever. It works great though. Someone put in a new front door and frame in my house and abandoned the alarm wires. I was able to locate them accurately and drill a hole to recover them. Will come in handy in testing my homemade cat5/rj45 cables.

Volume is good but whatch label direction.
I like using this toner. It works very well. Just make sure you know which way the volume knob turns. When I thought it was all the way on. It was all the way off. Funny.

Works well tracing network closests, but...
I purchased this equipment based on the good reviews, and it has been fantastic for our network port tracing projects. The signal is loud and easy to detect within large cable groups. However, the unit is now getting hot and giving off a strong electrical burning smell. I have no idea what may be causing this issue.

Handy time saving tool
Handy lightweight tool. Used for locating signal wires and antenna cables on ships. Works great on 2 core cables. Tried on antenna coax; audio signal weaker on shielded cable when antenna connected but can hear signal on antenna OK. Makes finding correct cables and antennas a lot easier and has saved me a lot of time already!
