Aquired taste
Definitely an aquired taste. My friend tried it abd hated it, but I loved these probably because I knew what to expect from trying the strawberry ones. I must say I like these better because they actually tasted fruity like melon but reminded me of green apple, the strawberry ones tasted like bubblegum. I definitely want to order more.

My first Mochi
After seeing a video about Mochi and its significance in Japan and Japanese culture I went to Amazon and took a chance. I was VERY surprised, in a very good way. In the video Mochi comes off like a much softer version of Marshmallow despite coming from rice. Knowing how marshmallow dries out I figured the Mochi would be dry and tasteless by the time it got to me in the midwest. I was COMPLETELY wrong. It was INCREDIBLY soft and very tasty. I am big fan of melon, but it is not a taste you find often in America. The taste was great, it was sweet without being a solid block of sugar and the only downside is that once I open a package, ... I finish the package. As for the value for money? I don't know because I have not comparison shopped. But it was low enough for me to try and I certainly fell like I got my money's worth.

Not my cup of tea, but not bad either
I love all things “melon” flavored and so was looking forward to trying these little confections.Personally, I found them to be much too sweet, which was surprising since I am used to most European or Asian snacks I have tried being significantly less sweet than American snacks. For me, the overwhelming sweetness was a big disappointment. The flavor was not at all melon-ish. To be honest, it was about the same as a big, campfire marshmallow in both taste and texture (just a bit denser). On the plus side, they seemed very fresh and very soft. There was no “best by” date on my package, but the product tasted fresh anyway. My husband likes them much better than me so they won’t go to waste lol

I liked these much more than the strawberry ones
Surprisingly, I liked these much more than the strawberry ones. The bean paste has a nice texture, and the melon flavor isn't too intense or perfume-y.I will say, the mochi has a more pleasant mouth feel if you firm it up by leaving the cakes in the fridge. So I recommend eating them cold.

Be Careful
I've read many reviews and all the bad ones seem to revolve around packaging and expiration date. These were a bit mashed but nothing too beat up when they came in but enough to be a little off-putting but then you bite into them and realize from both taste and texture they are old. After testing them I can say they are still edible and even still taste decent. The problem with this lies in that they are not marsh mellowly soft and they do not have the original flavor. 3 stars for sub par packaging, questionable expiration date, and a lack of texture along with taste.

These are good
This was my first time trying mochi and for a first experience, the're pretty good. I've heard 1. Alot of CONFUSION over what these are:these are a Japanese desert. 2. If heard ALOT OF people say that these are"TOO SWEET". WELL, those people must not eat sugar very often (you really shouldn't because its poison). There is definitely a touch of sweetness (this is after all a dessert) so of course there's going to be sugar in it). As for the flavor, if you enjoy honeydew melon give this a try. If not maybe pass on these . One Last thing to mention these taste alot better (seem to have more flavor) when chilled. (I've seen mixed reviews on whether or not to do that) it worked out OK for me.

Love the melon flavor!
This melon flavor is where it’s at! It tastes just like honeydew melon. These mochi are the larger kind. So they fill the palm of your hand. So soft. The filling is outstanding.
