BLACK+DECKER 20V MAX String Trimmer Edger Cordless, 10-Inch Electric Weed Wacker with Automatic Feed Spool Kit (LST201)

I have always hated most string trimmers, no matter the brand. Gas ones weigh a ton and kill your arm. Battery ones are too weak on power and the batteries never get past doing half of my 1/4 acre fenced in yard. So electric ones were my choice due to having some power and being light weight, with one exception- the long, long electric cords I need to drag out to do the whole yard. I won't even get into the constant string issues that almost all the bump feed trimmers have. I knew when my last electric string trimmer died what I wanted to look for in a new string trimmer- no more bump- but auto feed, no more long electric cords, but a battery one with a battery that will last, and at least enough power to get through medium- light weeds and grass. When I saw this model at this great price, I decided to order it and this is without a doubt the best string trimmer I have ever bought and used. The auto feed- what a time saver- no more messing with that string! A powerful 20 V Lithium Ion battery- power that gets me through the entire 1/4 acre yard with some to spare. The shaft is adjustable- perfect for tall people like me. A bonus is the head flips so you can also edge with this model. There is supposed to be a wheel for edging, but mine did not come with a wheel. It doesn't matter, as you can edge without a wheel. This trimmer doesn't even weigh 5 pounds- so light and easy on your arm. As for the spool, I've been using the same spool all summer and have yet to need to change it, so I'm seeing this one spool will last an entire summer on a 1/4 acre yard. Everything I wanted in a new string trimmer I now have. I always bring the battery inside and recharge it for the next use. I thought I would need 2 batteries, but not for my size yard. What used to take me an hour and a half now takes me a 20 minutes- this is the best string trimmer I have ever owned!

Had this a couple summers now and held up so far. Bought to use just around the house in between weed eating the whole 2 acres. Works great and seems to charge well. Light weight. Perfect for a quick tidying up around the front of my house.

I had an older Black and Decker trimmer that came with two NIMJ batteries, it had reasonable power and I could do everything on one charged set of batteries. But those batteries failed. My yard is small, 50x100 feet. This one comes with a single 1.5AH battery that only lasts 12-15 minutes. The trimmer will run normal, then slow down a bit, then stop completely about three minutes later. I also feel the rotating speed is just on the edge of being usable, it does tend to band things over almost as much as cut them. But it is pretty quiet for a string trimmer. The battery also takes hours to charge. It does function however and is very lightweight. I personally don't like the position of the handles as much as other trimmers I have had but its okay. For someone in the city, or with little trimming to do, this is probably a good choice. But for anything larger, you will probably be looking for something more robust. Next year , I'll spend the money on the red brand M and give this to someone who can use it. If it would spin a bit faster and have a longer battery life, I'd give it five stars.

Five stars with a one small hesitation. The weed eater works as well as the previous iteration of it and it is lighter and easier to use. My one hesitation is don’t expect it to cut very dense or long heavy grass. It works well on trimming the edge of an average lawn. Battery lasts longer than I do, that would be a few hundred liner feet. Line seems to feed without problem. I can’t say how long the line will last as the first spool hasn’t run out. But, the machine doesn’t seem to be wasting line. Now, that is just my observation.

Damn good. Wore the last one out. Was glad to see they still make it. Bought another one without question or hesitation.

This product does pretty well as a trimmer, not nearly as well as an edger. I bought this one to replace my 10 year old B&D edger/trimmer that worked great and still does. Unfortunately, I gave my old one to my granddaughter to use on her new home lawn.the old one was a bump-advance line feed and the new one is an auto-advance line feed. To say that I’m less than thrilled with the auto-advance would be understating things. The bump advance worked every time, why change things to a more complicated, less effective design just to say “Lookie here what we did!” When edging with my old one, I could do a 75’ curbing in less than 2 minutes and very little effort, plus the angle I stood to edge kept me very close to the curbing. To use the new edger, with a rigid wire guide, I had to stand 90° to the curb and at least a foot or more into the street. It also didn’t seem to have as much power, with the same battery as the old one and it took me nearly 4 minutes to do the edging, actually not as well as the old one did. I wish I would have videoed the edging process. Words just don’t do my frustration level justice. I had to take the reel apart 3 times to manually advance the line before it seemed to decide to sort of work.

Lightweight, oh yes. I have arthritis in my hands but I have no problems holding and maneuvering it. I basically use it as an edger. The only problem is the 2.0ah battery. The charge doesn't last very long. I am going to buy a 4.0ah compatible battery and would urge you to do the same as they last much longer between charges.

Excelente producto, pero la batería solo dura 30 minutos, hay que complementar con otra, y su tiempo de carga es de 4 horas

Sin cables (extensiones), sin humo ... perfecto, para jardines. La pila aguanto ( en mi caso el pasto estaba alto ) de una area de aprox 6 x 5 metros y se apago, despues hay que recargar la pila. Si su área es más grande , puede comprar otra pila extra o esperar que se cargue la pila. El instructivo no dice cuanto tiempo puede estar prendido, pero en las cortadoras de gasolina si le piden descansar el motor mínimo 15 min entre tanque y tanque.

Excelente producto sin embargo les sugiero comprar una pila extra para terminar la tarea ya que en áreas grandes no dura la pila
