4 Cycle Mini Cultivator

The media could not be loaded. Way better quality than expected, comes with oil also, heavy for what it is, my harbor freight predator tiller blew up and this is my replacement, and seems heavier duty than the predator, and my dads craftsman, much quieter being 4 stroke, very responsive throttle and seems plenty powerful. Overall very happy I chose this one, will test durability soon enough. I haven’t found the spark plug and assume it’s under the cover, not easily accessible but honestly the spark plug should last about the life of the tiller from my experience

The most important thought of this tiller that there are extremely no retailers or repair centers who are contracted by the manufacturer to support their product warranty in your neighborhood.I received this tiller and the cord to start this unit was stuck in place. It failed to start. I called the manufacturer for assistance many times.1. A recording.2. It just rings and tells you to leavea message. Of course no response.3. Their website is useless. Where isservice department. Again no servicecenters available. YOU, look it up!!I'm sure many units do work. Just keep your fingers crossed your unit continues to operate. Your warranty is on paper and it will cost you for any repair. Just think. Are parts available?Oh, for warranty services ship it, FEDX, UPS & they'll fix it maybe, after you pay for shipping and insurance. Good luck.Mine, it's a return.

I almost busted out loud laughing when I saw how big the box was when I received the Cultivator. Somewhat embaressed to let my neighbors see me with this little toy sized cultivator I headed to the backyard carrying it with one hand. It fired up on the second pull, make sure you have the tiller out of the dirt and tilted back holding the throttle wide open with one hand and pulling on the rope with the other hand. The rope handle, cheap plastic broke about the third time I used this machine. It started smoking badly after about the second tank of gas. I noticed it was getting a lot of oil from the crankcase breather to the carburetor air cleaner. But it was not as bad if I kept it revved up when it started. Keep in mind this is a cultivator, made to CULTIVATE about 4" deep. It works fine for that, but your mileage will vary depending on how you use it and the conditions it works in,. I read the manual thoroughly and could never find a point of lubrication for the geardrive. Unfortunately mine gave up the battle today, the gearbox is worn out so I have to decide what to do with it, I don't know if it will be worth trying to get warranty.UPDATE: I decided to give Thunder Bay Outdoor Products, the dealer, a call to see if they could help me out, left a message and they called back. This is why I read reviews before I buy because I place a lot of emphasis on service, warranty, and parts availability. Sure enough Garden Trax came through without a single problem! They got me up and running as soon as they were able to ship the next day. Their customer satisfaction is a top priority and you the customer can count on it. I couldn't be happier. there are so many mini-cultivators to choose from, it's crazy. We've got loads of power equipment here and it seems I'm always working on something to get it going again. So I read the reviews very carefully.....not wanting to add another cheezy, budget item to the worklist. Also....I'll take good and responsive customer service anyday....and that is getting very hard to find.Assembles in moments (just put handles in place, add included oil, then gas) and bingo....not only started right up (I think the second pull)...but purrrs like a kitten. Even at low idle. Pushed it straight out to the garden and got to work. Unless your soil has just been tilled (with larger rototiller), it's sort've like taking a dog for a walk that pulls constantly at the leash. I had tilled the entire garden good and deep, but our planting and fencing projects left paths that got trampled down pretty solid. The Garden Max chewed away at it diligently. So far, we love this thing....and I think it's a cute little stinker as well. I have a sneaky suspicion we may have made a very good choice. I do wish however, that there was some sort of handle adjustment for persons of different height. But don't worry.....I'll McGuyver something... ps....I got the extended 3yr warrentee, which kicks in after the manufacturer's 2yr warrentee expires. We'll see how this whole thing goes.
