I love this stuff. When I first tried it, I tasted it and went, "Ugh, weird, unpleasant." Thirty seconds later I wanted some more. Strange. I can see why some people don't like it. Give it a couple of tries, though. It's a strong and different taste and it takes a little bit to realize that it's good. My mother disliked it at first and likes it now.It really activates the tastes of spices, making them taste stronger, so be careful.I originally bought it as an occasional supplement for my parrot, but I eat most of it. She does like it, though.This is a good price, and it's from Ghana. Don't get palm oil from Asia, the growing practices there are harmful to orangutans. In West Africa, palm oil production doesn't contribute to deforestation, so this stuff is good for all great apes, including you.

Would give it 5 stars but the packaging is inconvenient on a cold day when the oil hardens. The oil is quite tasty and when mixed with coconut oil is divine.++++++++++++++++++++++++===01.19.13 Update: Am loving this oil and use it most everyday. Don't watch Dr. Oz but reading the newer reviews it seems he likes it too and his recommendation has driven up the price. But also looking at those same reviews I imagine the fad might be short-lived as no one seems to like the taste. I only thought it an unusual taste at first and now, months later, I am not aware of any unusual taste at all and when I don't cook with it I miss it. When I first began eating virgin coconut oil I had the same experience: I was aware of the coconut flavor but now it has no flavor at all to me. And I have solved the packaging issue by just soaking the container in some hot water during the cold months and then transferring the oil into another container.

I was very skeptical at first somoesered the small bottle. Now I have used it for soups and other things, I can say it's an excellent product.

Been buying this for sometime now however this particular purchase was different. The palm oil had a funny taste and smell that impacted the final taste of the food.
