Q: Can the cat still reach their ears?

It depends on the cat. Mine could reach his head and scratch it without issue. Since he has stitches on his head and abdomen, it means he can't use this one. Sadly.

I would think so. We bought the med size and our cat was unable to reach his sore bottom. I would think reaching his back would be even more difficult. I saw him trying to clean himself and couldn't reach so he licked the soft collar instead. For sure this product really made our cats recovery so much better and faster. He could eat, see, balance and hold his head up. When he slept it was like a little pillow for his head to rest on. Overall he was much more comfortable then wearing a hard plastic cone. TMI - sorry but I really like this product.

It might would keep him from scratching it if it would stay on. My cat was able to get this thing off of her very easily.
