MIRACLE CURE FOR WHITE KNUCKLES
My 1999 National Sea View 33' was an absolute nightmare to drive. I have a commercial DL and used to drive semis, flatbeds, and bob-tails through rain, snow, wind, and sleet. However, nothing scared me more than driving this dang RV. The wind would blow me into the next lane and trucks passing by would push me onto the shoulder. This thing required every ounce of concentration to keep it under control and on the road. You couldn't take your hand off the wheel for even a second; not even to take a sip off a bottle of water. A four hour drive in this thing would leave you beaten up, stressed out, and completely exhausted. Not fun! After two years of owning this rig, I finally had enough. Though the rig tracked fairly straight, I took it in for an alignment. This was actually some help as they took some of the play out of the steering wheel; enough to take a sip of water anyhow. The next step was to install the Roadmaster RSSA steering stabilizer. Though I am about average mechanical skills, I was afraid this was going to be more difficult than it was. I mean, one frozen or broken bolt and I'd be screwed. On an 18 year old RV, that was more than just a possibility. Fortunately, the bolts were easy to access and came off fairly easily after they soaked a couple hours in penetrating oil. The rest of the installation was a piece of cake. The road test went perfectly and I didn't have to re-adjust anything. Immediately, I noticed the steering was much stiffer, tracked true, and returned to center more or less on it's own. To me, it felt like the commercial vehicles I used to drive for 8-10 hours per day. Very manageable and safe. Almost drives itself now. My family is s happy and not in fear for their lives every time we take a trip. By far, this is the single best thing I have ever purchased for my RV. My only regret is not purchasing it sooner.

Drastically improves stability
The front and rear sway bar additions and steering stabilizer were the best investment I ever made to my Georgetown 369XL. I never found the drivability too difficult, but certainly there was always work to do to keep it on track. With an engineering background I was a bit doubtful that such small enhancement would make such a big difference. However, after being on the fence for a few years, and with a first longer trip coming up now, and after researching as much as I could online, I figured to give it a try. The installation is technically straight forwards and not too difficult, however, I opted to have a local shop do the work. If you are in the Fort Myers/SW Florida area, I can highly recommend Florida Spring and Axle Service, Inc.After taking the RV to the highway, I was impressed that it actually kept going straight and the roll was improved significantly. No more that feeling you are going to roll over when you park on the side of the road… While all three changes/additions are incredible, the most noteworthy I found the improvement of the steering stabilizer to keep the coach from shimmying all over the road. It’s funny, now I sound like all the other people whose remarks I read online…I am still driving a big box that still is like a sail in windy conditions, but this improves handling drastically! For the first time I was relaxed and enjoyed driving my RV down the road…. In fact, all gas coaches should be upgraded to the Roadmaster setup from the factory. So, from my end, I would give it a five-star rating, which I rarely do.

Fairly easy to install
This looks like a well made product. I have not had a chance to drive our motorhome with this installed yet. The installation is pretty straightforward, you will need the mounting bracket set because this is just the steering stabilizer. I have used these on other vehicles and they are a good upgrade.I installed this myself without a lift in under an hour. The nuts on the leaf spring u-bolts are tight and are compression nuts so they are the most work for this installation. Once that bracket is installed it's pretty easy going from there. The steering stabilizer is long and weighs close to 17 lbs according to the shipping label.Make sure your tires are pointed straight before you tighten the tie rod bracket. If your vehicle doesn't track straight or you feel like you have to "fight the steering wheel" to track straight down the road you need to move the tie rod bracket. This isn't a flaw in the stabilizer or mounting brackets, it's an issue with not having the tires aimed straight during installation. It might take a couple of attempts but it is well worth the effort. The directions are easy to understand but a few more pictures or diagrams would make it easier, especially if you haven't installed a product like this. The ½" washers go on both sides of the steering stabilizer, much like a shock absorber, not on top of the mounting brackets. (Bolt through the mounting bracket hole, washer, steering stabilizer, washer, nut.)The tools I needed for my installation were: long handle breaker bar, ratchet wrench,1⅛" deep socket, ¾" socket, (all ½"drive) ¾" box end wrench, 9/16" deep socket either ½" or ⅜" drive.

It fits barely, but we'll worth it
Looks like a good stabilizer, it would have taken me a half-hour to install BUT FORD cross threatened one of the spring u-bolt threads. I used my impact and it wouldn't come off and my one inch impact wouldn't fit. I got my extra long socket wrench out and removed it. I cleaned up the threads and installed the bracket. Then I installed the shock and the bracket on the tie rod. This was never made to be installed on an F53 chassis with the 7.3 V8. It does fit just barely because the tie rod isn't straight across, it has bends in it. I thought I would have to weld metal on the tie rod bracket to position it back farther but it just made it. The reinforcement frame under the engine is right over the shock. I took it for a drive and went over railroad tracks at 45mph and it was good. I then went down the road where there was a bad dip that drops about a foot I hit it at 45 and the frame never hit the shock when the springs compressed. I feel the stabilizer works great, on the way home I had a cross wind hitting me at a 45 degree angle and there was very little deflection.

Well our second purchase from Road Master worked out as expected.
This Road Master RSSA steering stabilizer tightened up the feel in the steering and returned the wheels to straight as expected. Great addition to the rear stabilizer. Now for Part 3 the Road Master front Sway Bar. see what that does for us.Gary from ExploreAtlanticCanada.ca

Good product
Used on a 2007 Winnebago 35L Class A corrected steering sway by about 50 percent better , now just have to install rear heavy duty sway bar and should drive great.
