Q: Do to have to use butter or oil on the outside of the bread (against the plates) or can i use spread?? i usually buy benecol or similar.

I use proactive marg which is similar to benecol. You don’t have to use much as the plates are nonstick and very easy to clean when they have cooled down.

Q: what are the dimensions of the plates, please? Not the whole machine, but the size of the removable plates. Thanks!

The plates are 24.5cm x 16 with two fitting lugs and a drain which protrude up to 1.1cm beyond this size.
