BASAK TOZ MAHLEP - BASAK GROUND MAHLEP IN EASY TO USE SPICE BOTTLE 75 G / 2.7 OZ

Used them to bake a kind of Egyptian smi-sweet bread called ( Fayeish ).They turn out great.

Perfect size for use in cooking, without having most of it go bad. I am making dried tart cherries pastry and pies, and warm cherry rice pudding.

The top was only sealed halfway under cap. When I took cap off it looked like it had been opened prior to wraping with plastic wrap. It may be a factory flaw but I won't use this product because of a chance of contamination. Product is also 40% flour which is not in description. Do not waste your money.

I assumed that this would be the ground spice but it seems to be 60% spice and 40% wheat flour. I don’t want wheat flour and the details about the product do not state that wheat flour is an ingredient. I would have preferred the whole spice if I had known that anything other than the spice itself was in the jar.

Love the convenience of having the mahlep already ground. Easy to add to recipes.

1. Label states product is diluted and only 60% spice. The rest is flour.. This is not mentioned in the item description and is something people with allergies need to know. 2. The container was open and unsealed, making the product unsafe to consume. The customer service chatbot issued a refund.
