Shovel works great! I like all the multi uses for it. However, there's a few design flaws1) Would be nice if the ice pick screwed into the handle like everything else, but it doesn't so I leave it in the bag most of the time and it has the potential of being lost more easily.2) Hex holes on shovel would've made sense to unscrew the whistle/ fire striker piece, but it doesn't just two identical hex sizes for nothing in particular.3) Handle extender piece and the piece that tightens shovel and pick head need something to create a better grip they seize up to easily requiring channel locks or something to loosen.

It's really heavy. 3 pounds, 4 ounces (with the bag) doesn't sound like much, but it's hefty. It's not something we want to carry about with us in the woods. It is a compact emergency tool to leave in the car.We cannot find the fire bar / fire starter. The product description says "More than 15 functions including ...fire starter." The User Manual diagram labels a "fire bar" as #13, but it's not there.

Comes wrapped in plastic and pretty heavily oiled (i'm sure to prevent rusting). I wish there was a way to place all the parts in the tube at once, but it really does have many uses and seems well put together. If I could give a 4.5/5 stars that would reflect my thoughts on this product more effectively.

Received this shovel yesterday, and was surprised by its weight. Not a bad thing, unless it's for back packing. Upon opening and inspection, it seems to be pretty well made. The shovel head and pick are fairly stout and lock into place with a metal collar not plastic. The included attachments ( knife, whistle, ice pick) not sure how much use I will get out of them, but handy to have just in case. Plenty of threading on handle sections make for a secure and strong lock up. Over all, looks to be pretty well made. Perfect for car camping or as a survival tool kept in the car. Only real complaint is the canvas carry bag, the bag itself is ok, but I hate the Chinese lettering emblazoned on the front of it.

I bought this using my wife's prime account and it came 2 days after. First of all, this is made from China, so i wasnt expecting anything really. But I was surprised that this is quality made. Very sturdy,it has weight to it. Nothing anything cheap about this. The knife attachement is so cool, sharp and kinda deadly. It is small but can do the job. You can hunt and impale anything with ease with this knife. The whistle and fire starter is sturdy as well. Made of metal. Ice breaker looks nice too. The spade and pic are all quality made. Im happ to add this to my bug out bag.

The price and durability and versatility are what earn this product 5 stars. You can do so much with it. Yeah, the knife edges were tough to hold their sharpness with them, and it'd be nice if it were longer. But this was a bargain multi-tool and I knew that when I ordered it, and the truth of the matter is that it performed way better than I would've expected.

It's heavy. But solid and useful. It saved me from being stranded in the middle of a forest in snow and ice. Great multi-purpose tool.
