Addicore 5 Pack nRF24L01+ and ESP8266 Breadboard Breakout Adapter Board (BB-ADTR)

These little things are great. Working with the ESP8266 on a solderless breadboard is a pain. But this little board makes life easy. I cant really say much about it, because it is just a simple circuit board. What you see is what you get. I only needed one of these, but the price was so cheap that buying the pack of 5 was worth it. I might use one to solder up a programmer circuit.

I used one of these adapters for an ESP8266, which has the pins labelled on the bottom where you can't see them when it's plugged into the adapter configured with the socket included in the pack. I substitued a right-angle double-row socket which holds the ESP8266 vertical and permits me to read the labels while plugged into a breadboard. Unfortunately, some of the nRF24L01 boards avalable don't appear to have labels at all. It would be neat if the adapter had silkscreen for the ESP8266 pinouts on one side and for the nRF24L01 on the other. Then the user could assemble each adapter for its intended application with the pin labels showing.

Easy to solder up, a breeze to use, does what it's supposed to. I was initially concerned as to the quality of the socket but once I used one it was easy enough to plug and unplug but it held the pins very securely without any looseness.

Not sure if nobody else mentioned this, or I just missed it... Technically, yes - these do the job. My issue is that if you're using pre-made jumpers, they don't fit well. The plastic part of the jumper hits almost exactly at the bottom of the nrf board when installed. It works... barely - the jumpers are pushed over at quite an angle.Would be neat if there were another board option that rotated the module 90 degrees. It would take up more space on the breadboard, but make it easier to use. Or, just put the module at the end of the breadboard and let it hang off the end.

Before you buy these from Amazon check out the price on Addicore's website, they are $0.88 each or $4.40 for five, in contrast Amazon sells them for $6.48 for five or $1.30 each. It pays to do a bit of shopping for small items like this. As for the board, they are good quality and a useful item.

These worked great - and good pricing too. Used a few of them already (you need to do a simple soldering job to get them together). No issues - good for me!
