Useful strategies
As the subtitle suggests, this Workbook provides background information and useful life-skill tips for organization, memory, complex decisions -- like buying a house -- that frequently overwhelm adults over the age of 17. Because the text is written at a 12th-grade level, adults with more severe reading issues would be wise to download the digital edition and use text-to-speech features. Double the value by working with a “study partner” – a trusted friend, parent, sibling, or partner -- to read and discuss the information as a team. The resulting conversations will strengthen each person’s understanding of dyslexia as it provides useful strategies for navigating the complex tasks of adulthood.

Perfect for use with TEENS
Why do I say TEEN? For 2 reasons: 1) If you are teaching your child at home, as I am, you know they have special needs, like spelling/reading/writing that other kids don't have. This book gives you, and your teen, the shortcuts to learning those, in a way that their TEEN brains understand. Plus the added fact that ADULTS still have these issues and are dealing with them, makes them not feel alone with their issues. For example, I never thought if incorporating pop songs into geography lessons to learn state abbreviations! Brilliant! There is so much that as parent-teachers we can use for our kids during middle school and through high school in this book!and2)Because if you are giving your special needs student LIFE skills, the skills in this book are what they need to thrive in the adult world on their own! We homeschool, so my plan is to get my daughter the ebook, so she can use text to speech, as she does with all her books, and I will use this as the 'teacher' copy. I had already planned a life skills class, so it will be easy to incorporate the lessons from this book into it!If you have a child with dyslexia you NEED this book!!!

How am I supposed to comfortably read this?
For a book written for dyslexic people as the main target audience this book is written in incredibly small, non dyslexic friendly font and has large blocks of text which basically makes this book not dyslexic friendly. What i can read is really awesome and seems to really allow the reader to feel impowered by their disability and finding the best ways to work with it but it makes no sense to have a book fory disability it can barely get through because of said disability. Like, do better guys and actually make the accessable to your target audience.
