I bought 2 of these a few weeks ago from EverydayPure (seller). I'm very pleased with these box spring encasements and really glad that they've made them affordable. I don't have a lot of dough, and everything adds up, so it's good to know that these help me stay within my overall budget. I bought these bc I need something to keep mites out and also something that's waterproof. So far so good. The encasement doesn't make any noises when you lie down or move around on your bed. Both encasements I bought fit on my regular twin size box springs just fine. The material is nice and soft. I haven't tested out whether it's truly waterproof or not (like I haven't poured a cup of water on the outside of the encasement, mainly bc I am currently using them and haven't made the time to try that out yet), but I can see there's definitely a waterproof inner surface on the inside of the encasement. I dropped some water droplets on the inside of the encasement, and the water just sat on the surface unabsorbed... Ok, so I just dropped some water on the outside of the encasement and the soft fabric outer layer absorbed the water, but the inner waterproof layer prevented the absorbed water from coming through to the inside. I hope this company continues to offer these box spring encasements and their mattress encasements at affordable prices bc I'll probably need to buy more in the future for other beds in my family.

No one ever wants to need one of these, but if you are going through the horror of the dreaded bed bugs, then this is the brand you want to buy. It sturdy, easy to install over your mattress, has that great zipper cover, so that it can't accidentally open, and most importantly of all, it gives you piece of mind that nothing is going to get in or out of your mattress. Just a tip, even if you spill something on the mattress, your kid pees the bed, or pukes on it.....DO NOT remove it to wash it until 18 months after you see your last bed bug. They can survive for that long, and no one wants to live through that hell again. Just spot clean as best you can. Also, after we brought these nasty little buggers home from a cottage rental 4 years ago, we found that heat treatment was what finally got rid of them for us. Chemicals didn't seem to work. We also used interceptor cups under bed posts, ecoraider, and Diatomaceous earth on anything that couldn't be heat treated or put in the washer and dryer on high heat. Best of luck dealing with these little sleep robbers, and know that eventually this will be over, even though it doesn't feel like it right now.

Because I have a small dog who runs under my bed to sleep at night, I thought it wise to cover my new split box springs (and my new queen size mattress) with these waterproof pads. My vet told me that I shouldn't wash my dog too much when they're so small ( 3 - 6 lb. range), but I have a back yard where I let her run & handle her business at least 3 times a day (to prevent any accidents in the house!) She does like digging and running after the squirrels. Even though I wipe her down when she comes in, others in the house forget! Even though her once a month Rx pill prevent fleas, heartworms, etc., I just know there are other little critters she probably picks up in her fur when she's out there! My weekly vacuuming doesn't get me to everywhere she may go - especially far under the beds! So - buying these pads for my box spring set at the same time as the mattress pad just made a lot of sense. Better safe than sorry - I'm pleased with my purchase! (P.S. I didn't wash the pads before I put them on (not required, but recommended), so I saved the washing instructions included in the package.)

My previous protector had be laundered in cold or warm water and dried with no heat -- it didn't stop the bedbugs at all. This one can be laundered in either or warm hot water and dried on either low or no heat, which I think has made the difference. In conjunction with a spray I use on the mattress and box spring every few days, I wash it every few weeks. It's gotten to the point where bedbugs don't occupy my mind any more!
