Nice to see and hear
My partner put it together. I could not figure out myself. It’s in bedroom and makes a lovely light flowing sound. Currently light is on always but it doesn’t bother at night. Seems one must keep the bowl pretty full so pump works silently. Have not cleaned yet so that may be a challenge. Tower is extremely heavy.

An amazing buy. Enjoy!
This fountain looks GREAT and adds luxury to my office. It's really refreshing to have this luxury... and it's affordable!Take care of it, mine has already lasted a year and I expect it to last much longer. The key to maintaining the fountain is preserving the pump... 2 points in particular: never let it run dry or it will burn the pump, and use drinking water instead of tap water. The instructions recommend to use drinking water, not tap water, and I'm all for it as long as it helps me maintain this beauty by my side. My routine is to keep a gallon of drinking water nearby and make certain never to let the water level run low because that would seriously damage the pump; I top off the water every 1.5–2 days just to make sure I preserve this baby ;). Also, the water passes over the rocks and takes sediment into the circulation. It's not a big problem, but I turn it off every few months and give the bowl and pump a good rinse. Lastly, this fountain is not to be turned off! Turning a fountain on and off every day damages the pump more than simply leaving it running... I learned this the hard way with a larger fountain. So again, just make sure it has plenty of water at all times, then leave it running forever and ever, except for every few months for a quick rinse.I bought this fountain in spite of reading a few negative reviews (I always read the negative ones...). Many of them are baseless. One read, "this fountain is terrible, it's only the third day and its splashing water everywhere". Well, the instructions say to "wet the face of the fountain before turning it on"; I'm certain none of these reviewers did that. Water has attractive forces; if the face of the fountain is wet, the water that comes out will "follow the path" down the wet wall. However if the wall is dry, the water that comes out of the top of the pump will simply exit the opening with the same force used to pump it through. When I turn it offf and turn it on later, I just turn it on, let it start to flow, and then use my hand to take the water that's coming out and spread it out evenly across the wall. If you yourself wet the wall with your hand, you can get pretty much the whole fountain wall running with water. It looks AWESOME.If you're looking to buy a tabletop fountain, I highly recommend this one. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Highly recommend, with a couple of notes
I have purchased table top fountains before and didn’t have high hopes for what this one would be like at the price point, but I was decorating a new massage therapy office on a budget, so I gave it a shot. It’s actually really lovely. I read the dimensions before buying, but it looks more substantial than I expected in person. I put it together and let it run 24 hours a day for a couple of weeks before I brought it to my office i to make sure it wasn’t going to die right away. It works great. You can hear a quiet hum of the pump running if you listen for it, but mostly you just notice the sound of the water. I’ve seen reviews that said the pump sputters or water didn’t flow down right or maybe squirted everywhere when they plugged it in. I’m here to tell you that’s user error. The pump works properly when it’s actually sitting down in the bowl flat with the hose lined up in the hole of the fountain evenly. I did struggle for a minute to get that situated and ended up having to trim 1/4-1/2” with a pair of scissors off the top of the tubing on the pump. Second, be sure to maintain enough water in the bowl. It makes noise and spits when it gets too low and the pump can burn out as a result. As far as the water coming down nicely, when you first plug it in and the face of it is dry, you need to run your finger with the water running all across where it’s coming out. This will help to wet the whole front of the stone and once you’ve done that the water should come down evenly. This is all probably something the manufacturer should put in the directions, but if you do this, you shouldn’t have any problems. Very happy so far.

I thought it was perfect.
I chose this fountain because it was one of the few on Amazon that got a score of at least 4 stars. The fountain looked beautiful after the easy setup and worked great. The pump was quiet and the water sound was perfect. It rarely splashed, and the light was a nice touch. I was quite happy with it. I would have given it 5 stars. Then after two days, the water started spurting out on the right side instead of cascading down and it splashed all over. I was hoping it was just that the pump needed to be turned down, so I switched it from medium to minimum, but it didn’t help. Very disappointed. Obviously I’m going to return it, which will be an extra pain because it’s quite heavy. Now I have to decide if I want to try the same again and hope for better results, or try a different one. If I do give I another try, I'll update my review.

Not as Pictured, All Basic Black on Black on Black, Bent Lamp
Runs well, quiet with pleasant water sound, and mine does not smell as some others have reported, but looks cheap. Disappointed by appearance only.I was expecting the fountain to look more like its product picture on Amazon: Warm grayish/brown slate colored surface, a dark brown bowl. What I got was entirely jet black spray painted. It doesn't look nearly as upscale as the picture, and while the resin is heavy and it's well built, just looking at it it without touching you would think its made of injection moulded plastic. If I can't figure out how to make it look a lot less like I bought it at K-Mart, I may have to return it. Just looks cheap. It has as many rocks as pictured, but it wouldn't hurt its appearance to add more of your own.

Very nice
I bought this as a gift and it turned out really nice. At first it was hard to determine how much water to put in it but once we put in enough it was very nice.
