You have to shake it. You turn the key to play the music.

You have to shake the waterglobe to move the snow. This item does not take any batteries. You will need to turn the key on the bottom to make the music play. So sorry for any confusion.

Q: Where do you install batteries

This is an “old-fashioned” wind-up music box, so there are no batteries.

Q: Does the snow/glitter swirl continuously by battery or do you have to shake it to move the snow?

You need to shake it for the snow to move.
