Q: Can this additional camera be placed in a different room to monitor 2 kids in 2 different rooms at the same time?

Yes it sure can! The parental unit has a scan mode that flips through the cameras every 30 seconds. I prefer this to a split screen monitor because then I still get the sound.

Q: When monitoring two rooms, if scanning one room and sound is detected in the other will I still hear it?

No, you would only hear the active room. We use the scan1 setting, it's fairly quick, probably 5 seconds or so. Hasn't been an issue.

Q: Once mounted to the wall, is the camera easy to remove for frequent travel?

Yes, you just put a screw in the wall and the camera hooks on to screw. And you just slide camera up to remove from the screw, very easy to remove and replace camera.

Q: Is there anyway a shelf for me to mount on the wall?

No, shelf is not included. There's a hole on the back of the camera for mounted. This shelf would be a good solution. www.amazon.com/dp/B075C7Y6FN

High quality, worth it.

Excellent battery life. Great night vision quality only when using the regular lens. Sound great. Love that I can I stall multiple cameras. We have three in various rooms.

I have tried these two cameras in 2 kids rooms ...

I have tried these two cameras in 2 kids rooms for 2 weeks. (A 19 months boy and a 3.5 years old boy) they are working well. I always use the SCAN function to have the auto switch view to each room every 10 secs. I plan to get a 3rd one for my future baby girl’s room too.

Good!

I haven’t had any problems, had the camera for one year. Works great as a second camera... you can “scan” between cameras every 5 secs... so far so good infant optics!

Don't buy outside of USA

Product was fine. My audio failed after 10 months. They don't honor the warranty outside of the US. Now the proud owner of a 190 dollar coasterBuyer beware
