Very easy to assemble
It's always hard to say how easy, or not easy, these are to setup. Long story short, it's very easy and it does not require a lot of force. The tradeoff is that the size is a bit bigger than what you might want for a portable soft box.I have various soft boxes, up to a 5 foot octabox. They are a huge pain to assemble and even though you can build them and take them apart as much as you want, they often require a lot of force to put together and break apart. So, yes, they're portable, but I'd rather not struggle with them in front of people so I just either assemble them at home and put it in the trunk and carry around a soft box that screams "hey, look at me!" I also have one of those softboxes that folds into a pouch and while the portability is amazing, it's also sort of flimsy and because it doesn't have a ring to mount into my bowens mounts it just kind of hangs loose on an S bracket or reflector. You kind of have to aim them a little higher than ideal most of the time. With this foldable softbox. It's going to take you a little longer to assemble it the first time. By a little longer, I mean that it's going to take you like a minute the first time and maybe 30 seconds once you see how it's supposed to work. You just open it manually and press this piece into the middle until it snaps into place. So, yeah, it's very easy. To take it apart, you do the reverse. I find that it helps if I push the middle in further and then press the lock release. If you just press the lock release without pushing it, the friction between it and the locking part will require more force. Push in, press, and it pops right out.As far as use, I highly recommend you use the reflection disk. You lose about a third of a stop but the light quality looks so much nicer. You lose about a stop and a third with the disk, internal diffuser, and outer diffuser. And you lose 2 stops with the eggcrate but it's worth it if you want to contain light spill better. I do like that it's all velcro for the internal diffuser. My other soft boxes has rings and it takes a little longer to put on. Although, honestly, I usually just fold it with the diffusers inside. Not a good option for you if you care about wrinkles.I would probably use my flimsy softbox if I wanted a extremely portable setup but I'll be using this softbox when portability is not as important. Don't get me wrong, it's still portable and it's very light. But it's not portable to the point where I can fold it and fit it in my camera bag.

Belle finitions ici.
