It will work with any brand of battery.

Q: This optima charger how long is the warranty, thanks.

The length of warranty on paper doesn’t matter because getting them to act on it is difficult. They wanted me to send the charger to them at my cost and wait without a charger for 6?weeks

Q: Are the clamps made of plastic or are they built of some other material that will actually last?

The clamps are metal on the inside (obviously), and a durable plastic on the outside as insulating covers. Looks to be pretty durable, I've had no problems with them. But then, I tend to take care of my toys! :-) This unit, by the way, was an excellent investment...after having owned several less-capable chargers. This one restored my Yellow Top battery back to its full capacity in short order! I own a Tahoe Hybrid and had installed the Yellow Top as a result of standard batteries not holding a full charge after a year or two, and often draining when not running the Tahoe at least once every 4-5 days or so. Can connect full-time to the battery the accompanying cable, making the use of clamps unnecessary! Just have to remember to unplug it!

Q: How does it compare to the ctekcharger?

Recently my Optima Digital 1200 charger started giving erroneous readings, so I called the factory for repairs and they said "We do not repair the chargers". The Optima price is $200.00, you can by 3 Ctek chargers for this price.
