GEARWRENCH 8 Pc. Stud Removal Set, SAE/Metric - 41760D

I should have purchased a set of these a long time ago, but I never did think about it until I needed them. Then I always ended up using doubled-up nuts to remove the stud. Knowing I had a task coming up soon where having a set of these would help immensely, I decided to finally purchase a set. I'm glad I did! These do their cam lock on the non-threaded parts of studs perfectly and grip like there's no tomorrow. They'll also work on threaded studs and are fairly nice to the threads, owing to a large cam area of contact. Installation is as easy as removal on all the studs I worked with.

After fighting with a rusty, broken off bolt I gave in and bought this set... And should have bought it a long time ago! Within a minute I had the old, rusty, body mount bolt out with easy with this tool. They work on forwards and reverse making them very versatile. Sockets are sturdy, heavy construction. Nice case with a quality latch to store them in. 10/10 Great addition to my toolbox.

They did grab the snapped bolt but just stripped the thread off then would not grab so did not do the job.

I already had a generic copy version of this set it was a good item but I lost it (lent 🙁). It worked very well on all but the most stubborn ‘frozen’ short studs. This Geartech set is identical, same case, similar looking sockets, no Geartech logos. The only thing identifying them as Geartech is the case. I already have other Geartech socket sets which are high quality so high expectations for these ones. These operate similar to a chuck and can tighten as well as loosen studs or threaded rods without damaging the threads.
