Worked just as described!

I have a 2013 model John Deere D140, this cover fit it perfectly. Quick install and does exactly what it says it will. The instructions that come in the box show you how to put the rubber straps and everything together, but mine came already assembled. Well worth the money, is a great partner to a good set of mulching blades.

The cover is not easy to install. But when installed properly, it works well and holds tight. The cover needs to be in the groove at the bottom. I find it easier to place the cover in the groove about 1" towards the back, and then slide it forward into place.The cover alone is not enough to be able to mulch the grass, you also need to install mulching blades.

Fits perfect on my 2016 John Deere (Lowes) D160 48". Ordered 3-Gator Blades with the plug. Will update later how it performs on my 1-acre.UPDATE: Dropped to 4-stars because it now takes me almost twice as long to cut my 1-acre. To mulch it properly, I had to raise the deck about 1-inch, and drop the speed almost in half. Think I'll pull the plug when I'm in a hurry.

I’ve had mulching plugs for other brands of tractors. All had a similar design, but none of them were made of material this thick. The only thing I can possibly see failing is the rubber straps rotting over time - a long time. They are riveted and not bolted so there is no way to replace them. However, I just don’t see them failing, they are really beefy.

This worked great. Mulches perfectly, easy to install. Some reviews said it would not stay in place but I have not had that problem. Would recommend this product. Used on an acre lot.

Works just like the one I had before. I got this one because I broke the bungee on the older mulch plug. I would buy again.

I bought this for a D155, which is the part listed for that tractor. When I went to install it, I noticed that the Mulching Plug in the box, is much different than the one pictured on the box. Then I get to the instructions. The instructions tell you to connect the pins on the bungee to places on the deck that aren't on my deck. I have nowhere to hook the pins on on my deck except for the brackets for the wheels, which are too close, and don't hold the plug on securely at all. The instructions also say to leave the safety chute on, but do to the bungees attaching on the top of the plug, and not the side as shown in the picture and the instructions, they won't both fit. There is also supposed to be a notch that hooks in to the opening, that is not there. That doesn't matter as much since my deck also doesn't have anything for the notch to sit into. I understand redesigns, but don't say that it fits when it is not designed to. I expected more out of John Deere. As it is, it is useless unless I drill holes in the deck, and even then, it won't fit right.

Looks like it will work BUT not exactly as shown. I Could have bought it from Home Depot for 40$ less. I Bought it because it looked slightly different than the Home Depot cover but it appears exactly the same as what Home Depot sells. Will update how well it works. Well I have used it. It does do a nice job with the grass by eliminating the need to go over cuttings. Tried mulching leaves and found you still have to run over them more than once but not as many times if you didn't use it.
