Q: I want to mount this alarm inside a storage unit. Will it detect the movement of the metal door and is the alarm loud enough to hear outside the door?

It detects any movement! It is surprisingly loud!! The small door alarms you get from the dollar store are nothing compared to this. Yes, you would hear it outside the door. Of course noise would be muffled but heard from a short distance. It’s hard on the ears, when I’ve set it off, my ears can’t stand it too long. Just make sure nothing inside the storage can fall over on its own and activate alarm.

Q: Does alarm shut off automaticly after so many minutes?

If the alarm shuts off after 2 minutes, does it start back to set automatically? Like if a perpetrator knew that it cuts off in two minutes and closes the door and then reopens the door, will the alarm be heard again or would the alarm have to be reset? I have a serious career criminal interested in my home.

Q: How long does the alarm sound for onece it is triggered?

It stays on how ever long you have set it to stay on. It does not matter whether or how many times the door is opened or closed while the alarm is on.
