The Kabbalistic Mirror of Genesis: Commentary on the First Three Chapters

A True Gem
Attention, all students of Kabbalah & the Mysteries; this book is a MUST ! Being a student of kabbalah and Hermetic Science for some forty-odd years now, I believe I am safe in saying that, if you are pursuing these things, you know how difficult and tedious they can be at times. That being said, I must directly challenge you to read and study this work carefully. Having studied the ZOHAR and many other Kabbalistic source-works for many years, I can vouch for "Kabbalistic Mirror's" authenticity and faithful accuracy to the venerable ancient tradition, as well as viewing the whole thing from a very refreshing approach. Truly, as you read it, you may wonder if all of the ideas are truly grounded in Kabbalah. My answer is a resounding YES !! Dealing with the first three chapters of Genesis, this work is accurate, in depth and illuminating. Mr. Smith is a first-rate scholar, as well as a devout mystic, who has had access to rare & obscure Kabbalistic texts, some of which aren't yet available in English. His work WILL provide much needed insight into the core truths of Kabbalah, and is presented in such a way as not to insult the modern mind (although, in my humble opinion, the "modern mind" (so-called) could use a little shaking up every now and then). Dealing with the essential nature of spiritual perception and reality, it will surprise and delight. You may even see surprising parallels to modern quantum mechanics and particle physics! (Keep a copy of Mr. Hawking's "A Brief History Of Time" nearby). There are several good reviews of this work, and much more could be said here, but if you are truly seeking Light and Truth, you need this book! It is a true Gem in the Garden. (do I need mention WHICH garden?) This is an update written after the fact: Mr. Smith has since published two more books as companions to "Kabbalistic Mirror", entitled "The Sacrificial Universe" and "The Blazing Dew Of Stars". Both of these titles considerably expand & enhance "Kabbalistic Mirror"s" principles & teaching. With the addition of contemplative artwork, both are excellent companions and material for those who truly desire a truer and deeper understanding of Kabbalistic truths and worldview. They are a powerful combination, and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Very clear mystical insights into Kabbalism in the Torah: INCREDIBLE
My own researches into the mystical nature of Kabbala in the first chapter of Genesis spans almost forty-two years now and I understand a great deal about the word ELOHYM (it actually has the formula for pi: 3.1415 embedded into its Gematria); however, David Chaim Smith's work greatly expands upon my previous understanding of the word ELOHYM giving great commentary on its structure and what it means; for the reason that, my research clearly demonstrates that David Chaim Smith insights are not only valid but incredible and have actually opened my eyes into new ways of looking at the word ELOHYM that he neither mentions nor have I envisaged before.I have a hypothesis that the Old and New Testaments are thousands of minute vignettes: i.e. commentaries of the first written and hidden letters of Genesis: BETH and PEI. What David Chaim Smith has illustrated in his work, most likely without him even knowing it, is that his commentary on ELOHYM coincides with the commentary in the very beginning of the Zohar; though, to many it may not appear so and Elohym per se is a third commentary. Amalgamating all these commentaries exudes even more information than I have ever hoped to envisage myself; for the reason that, there is an infinite depths to the knowledge about God.I am so taken with this work that I originally purchased it via KINDLE; however, now I have ordered the paperback and his future work coming out in July. Often having the book in hand gives it psychologically more substantial validity. I don't know why that is so. Maybe its because of my age.THANK YOU David Chaim Smith for your INCREDIBLE contribution to the Torah.

Paradigm Shattering.
After a long wait because of its initial limited availability this work is now in paperback again (also available from Daat press in London)! I was initially intrigued by David's art as a meditative tool while reading Leo Schaya and was motivated to research all his work online. I even purchased hardcover editions of his two subsequent works as well as two pieces of his artwork via Fulgur. I began to read his third work, THE BLAZING DEW OF STARS, and realized that this is a trilogy. So I stopped and waited patiently, reading a lot of Traditional school literature which led to Carlo Suares (again), and ultimately Aryeh Kaplan's works on Meditation in addition to Mark Verman's work on the Books of Contemplation and The Fountain of Wisdom (which I never would have even found had it not been for this author's indirect inspiration). The non-dual treatment of the three first three chapters of Genesis is phenomenal and David is to be congratulated for bringing us this work, out in the open where it belongs. His treatment of the material is masterful yet direct. He has captured multidimensional awareness in words, which is quite frankly simply brilliant. "Chutzpah!" in spades as a reviewer comments. The availability of this work to the general public marks a very important transition point in Kabbalah. There is even an intriguing presentation of the Cube of Space of which I am not familiar with (when you consider the traditional Planetary/Sephiroth attributions) and I look forward to his elucidation.Thank You David!AND Mazel Tov!

A better discernment of Bible!
Very thought provoking, this is not a book for reading leisurely, it is indeed for studying.

My new favorite book!
This is an extremely good book, very deep and enlightening. Goes into the nature of infinity, the mind and consciousness, and the abstract nature of reality. If I could give it 6 stars, I would.

Not what it seems
What a joke, I was having a hard time trying to understand what the author was talking about, I'm a veteran of kabalah and the Zohar so Im Familiar with the subject matter but then I realized what I was reading was kabalah jibberish, crazy scenarios wrapped up I. Hebrew terminology meaning absolutely nothing, the author is an artist with some occult experience and that's what you'll get in this book, interesting art and a lot of mumbo jumbo.

A fantastic exposition of the subject!
A difficult topic made as clear as is possible in terms of language and print. The book is of great quality with clear print and diagrams, there is no glossary and some words may require further interpretation and reading although David has quite magically made the subject as clear as possible in so few pages. A basic understanding of the Kabbalistic tree of life would be beneficial and a desire for gnosis is important. I highly recommended it be read in parts as an aid to meditation as it requires an unfamiliar (to the uninitiated) mode of perspective which at first may make the subject seem ungraspable. David has managed to shine a light on the deepest secret of 'Beginningness' and should be applauded for his efforts. A profound must have book for those who seek.
