Fresh Curry Leaves (With Stems) - 1.0 oz

Yipes! I probably wouldn't have ordered these had I read the reviews. Not sure how so many other packages were delivered in completely useless form... Perhaps the stemmed leaves I just got were freshly picked, cuz ALL of them were absolutely fresh, green, flawless and fragrant. I've only had curry leaf this fresh when bought at a farmers market on Kauai - and they lasted FIVE weeks just in their original bag in my fridge. I looked online how to store these leaves, and am doing an experiment. I pulled all the leaves off the stems, put them in my salad spinner (Oxo - with very fine mesh on spinner basket), then laid them on a baking sheet to air dry. Once FULLY dry, I put half in a shrink-wrap bag which I put in the freezer; the other half I put in a shrink-wrap bag and they're in my spice cabinet. I'll see which ones last longer or if I have issues with either one. I haven't had time to use these in many dishes, but I just added a handful in some dal I made the other night - absolutely perfect flavor!! Nothing wierd, chemical-tasting or off-putting like a batch of dried curry leaves I'd also bought at Amazon. So far, I'm liking these fresh curry leaves! I'll try them in a subzi and poha. Now, if I'd gotten a bag of rotten, moldering, aphid-filled leaves I'd be very disappointed. No telling what my next bag will be like, but I'll definitely be re-ordering these again, cuz fresh curry leaf is simply not available even at Indian grocery stores near me.

We eat a good bit of curry at my house, and I’ve been looking for fresh curry leaves everywhere, but can never find them. I decided to try these, and I’m so glad I did. They arrived quickly and were fresh and vibrant when they arrived. They kept in the fridge for three weeks - and probably would have kept longer if I hadn’t used them all by then. Just cut these into ribbons, or mince them like parsley, and add to any curry recipe for the most aromatic and flavorful curry.

Wow, I am so pleased. I was making oats poha this morning for breakfast and had the thought to check the mail, even though I just ordered these. There they were, perfect, fragrant and fresh! I tore them up and threw them in with the mustard seeds and peanuts within 2 minutes of receiving them. How delightful to have a good source for fresh curry leaves! There is simply no substitute.

Always had to drive a ways to the Indian grocery to find fresh curry leaves. The gift of this isolation is what I've found to be available online that I never would have thought available. So grateful. These are excellent quality and generally arrive in one day. I've ordered them 4 times. Always great!

These leaves arrived in absolutely beautiful condition. I made a BonAppetite curry recipe with a handful of them, and it was good. The recipe said there was no substitute, so I was expecting some wild new flavor experience. It tasted very similar to other curries I've made, but without all the garam masala, and such. This had ginger, garlic, mustard seed and curry leaves for seasoning. The leaves do pack a punch. Here's my down side. Cooking curry always creates a lingering, pungent smell in the house for several days. When I threw these leaves into the hot oil as called for, the smell really punched me in the face in a not so great way. It was almost not food-like. I was relieved when the end product tasted good because the smell was not good. It lingered in the house for three or four days. I did not save the rest of the leaves. I'll try them again in the summer when I can cook with the windows open, but that's too much for winter cooking.
