Shock Doctor Ultra Carbon Flex Cup

Bought for my soon to be 11 y/o boy. This is a perfect fit as he said the last cup was getting uncomfortable. Fits in the Shock Doctor shorts.

Purchased this to replace my hockey cup. Does exactly what it needs to - protects the jewels. Can't ask for anything more.

It doesn't hold a boy groin smell. I give it a sniff every once in a while and it doesn't smell too bad. Even when he uses it a lot and it gets sweaty. He says it is comfortable as well. I have not had to wash it. It fits inside his pants. I now need to find a good use for it after - I am thinking it would be a good dog food scooper and is a great multi-use product.

Well constructed but rather tight. I should have bought a larger size. Was not sure how to size a product like this. I still am not. But its nicely made. Has rubber trimming for comfort and shock absorption. The case is also rigid and could take an impact for sure.

Easy to clean and comfortable with a JockStrap on.

Listen up, less-endowed guys out there: the medium cup fits like a glove, keeps everything in its proper place, and is the most comfortable cup on the market. I tried a large a number of years ago and there was no support for the boys and didn't fit well, so it went in trash, and I went back to the old fashioned style cup. There's no going back now. The medium Shock Doctor cup is great.

Be advised! Shock Doctor has changed the product (my guess is to cut costs) so many (most?) of the reviews going back to at least 2016 here are NOT for the currently shipping model as of this review. They have done away with the fake carbon fiber but have not updated the product photos here on Amazon or on the Shock Doctor website!When I first looked at this I thought -- "cool looking, awesome design." But then reviews said there is no "carbon" but just fake carbon fiber paint/decals that peel off. Other reviews and photos show quality issues like jocks ripping apart at the seams. I ordered a cup anyway and what came felt like a cheap knock-off of even the fake carbon fiber version! Now they don't even bother with a decal and it just has plain plastic with a herringbone texture.There are some weird nubs in the gel/rubber cushion that at first seemed to be flaws but now I think they are just obtrusive alignment pins. I don't think the company really cares about the look anymore and they figure most people are not going to bother returning a product that gets shoved down someone's pants anyway.It feels dishonest that they keep using the older photos because, in my opinion, they probably know the older product looks much better than the current. And kind of a bummer that the older, cooler looking versions have apparently given way to cost cutting. Amazon should really have a new product page for this since they have changed the product so much over the years.
