AK Interactive ultra matte varnish #183

Great product. Best matt I have ever used. A true matt finish.

This matte varnish works great and dries quickly. It works so well in fact, that as I'm airbrushing a model I'm not always sure if I hit an area or not. The varnish is undetectable once dried.

Brush it on or airbrush it without thinner. This is the easiest and MOST MATTE finish I’ve ever used. A little bit goes a long way so it’s worth the price. Thank you AK!!

I have been a Testors Dullcote user as my matte varnish brand for years (decades really) I had noticed more recently though, depending on the type of paint/addition I would use, it was leaving more shine than I'd like.It seems to me the old recipe for the matte was changing.I decided to give AK Interactive's Matte varnish a try. It can be used easily through an airbrush, but I like using a brush. After waiting for to dry, I was surprised by how well it worked! Dead flat finish. That was more like the Dullcote for years ago.It really improves the look of my model. With miniatures detail is very small, even a slight sheen of gloss will not allow all the details to be noticed. With a dead flat finish, there is no glare to distract from the colors I've chosen. It just pulls the miniature together more cohesively and is a great benefit to photography as well.AK Interactive is now the only Matte varnish I will use.

This was ordered on the recommendations of several people. I have about 6 different "Matte" clear coats. All are acrylic. None of them were actually matte. They all had either a glossy or semi glossy finish. One of those, made by Rustoleum, was matte. But, it could and would strip paint off of a primed miniature. It also tended to dry so quickly you had to wait to recoat, becuse it would peal up the first layer or become cloudy.This AK Interactive is exactly what I was looking for. It dries as a clear Matte. No shine at all. Perfect for my needs. It does what it claims. I won't have to search for anything else. This is it for me. If you paint Miniatures, this is the stuff. Thank you AK Interactive for doing what so many other companies have failed at.

Very matte

This does exactly what I want in a Varnish, it applies a matte finish and protects the minis. I don't have an airbrush so I can't speak to that, but out of all the brush-on varnishes I've tried this is by far the best.

I’m a big fan of this varnish. My doll was super shiny and this varnish took away all the shine. It also dries very fast. I definitely recommend!!
