If heating the stone in the oven, how long does it take and at what temperature?

You have to get the oven up to 350 degrees for the stone to hold the heat long enough. Our oven goes to 300 and the stone was hot enough to cook for 15-20 mins so the extra heat does make a difference. Great product though.

What does the cold stone do?

Most people buy this stone for cooking. But you can chill it and serve cheeses and grapes on it for instance.

How long does the stone stay hot for?

It will stay hot enough to "sizzle" for 20 minutes, and to cook another 20 minutes after that. It stayed hot for a while (I made sure not to accidentally touch it while moving it back to kitchen).

Does food stick on it? Or can it be considered naturally non stick?

Food (filet mignon) does stick to the stone .I suppose you could spread a little olive oil on ,it might help .We love it .Its so much fun to do with guests and your meat is always nice and hot.
