Do not buy this type of printer.
The printer worked ok -not greatly, just ok- for one month. As it had a internal clock from it first use so one could not benefit from warranty or anything. It stopped connecting to the WiFi, stopped printing pages correctly unless one rotates the pages 180 degrees -for some unexplained reason. It constantly jams. The toner drum seems to last very little, and the print quality is just a few notches down from crisp.I called, they were not very helpful and washed their hands saying that it was out of the return period, so too bad. I hired a tech, who taught me how to fix the basics, but the printer is still temperamental and gives error messages from time to time. The only solution is to be willing to reinstall the printer every so often. A second call connected me to a lady that was really ashamed, and who gave me a 100 dollar discount on this 500 dollar plus product. It works now as a clunker, and I have had it for only five months. I won't be buying another Brother product again, unless I don't find another manufacturer that builds double tray, laser monochrome printers. Brother seems to be one of the few builders if not the only one, unfortunately. They should stick to sewing machines.... which are not that great, either.

Buy this
Print quality is excellent, as well as speed and precision. WiFi set up was so easy I thought it was just the first step, but nope, it was the only step that took five minutes. I haven't used the double tray function yet, but I doubt it will be a problem. As a a loan signing agent, a good printer is indispensable. My last Brother, single tray, broke last week when I moved. I dropped it because I am a klutz, and all the lights lit up like a Christmas tree. I was unable to reset it, and not willing to pay to have it fixed. However, that little printer worked like a horse for years. Brother is the king of printers. Do yourself a favor, and buy off brand ink cartridges and drums. There are a couple of brands that work well with Brother printers. Just guide yourself by other people's reviews when choosing supplies.

VERY HAPPY CUSTOMER
I purchased the Brother HL-L6200DWT monochrome duplex printer for my Notary Business and oh man....Jackpot! This machine automatically prints my pdf files to the page size in the document (use auto setting in print menu) in Letter and Legal and it's FAST!!!! It can print from Bluetooth on my cell phone too! This machine has saved me a lot of time. I purchased a second Brother (MFC-L3770CDW) to do the smaller jobs like scan backs, printing FedEx labels, and anything I need in color. When I received the email for the extended warranty, I had to print it out and write the machine on the top so i'll know which printer it belongs to. They really ought to fix that.

Fast, Efficient and full of options
As a Notary Signing Agent, this definitely fits the bill. Purchased HL6200 DWT and adjusted settings to have printer automatically print based on page size from your Adobe PDF. Regularly can print two 180 page documents in less than 10 mins - note as paper tray runs out will use other tray as back-up unless set properly (ie run out of letter size in tray one will auto-print on legal), I am still figuring that out. In the meantime filling trays between printing. For a less expensive option HL5200 is same and about $80 less on average, slower prints but according to friends that use this model not much slower. This printer is recommended by nearly all Signing Agents I work with and I would highly recommend myself.

Decent Printer Overall
This is a decent printer, and it does what I need it to do, which is to print according to document size and choose letter or legal from the paper trays, depending upon the paper size of the original documents being printed. I upgraded to this one from a HL6180DWT, which I purchased in 2013, three and a half years ago. That one was printing fine but had started to get more and more paper jams until one day the paper jam damaged the reel in the back of the machine. I was able to clear the jam eventually but decided it was time for a new printer. I print about 300 pages at a time, several times a week, and so it gets quite a bit of use. There are two negatives with this machine as I see it. One is that it tells you that you need to replace the toner way too soon, but you can reset this by pressing down the Secure and X Cancel buttons together and using the up button. You can replace the toner when the print copy you get indicates that it is time. The other negative feature is, if you run out of paper in one tray, it automatically switches to printing from the other tray. That may not be a negative if you have letter size paper in both trays. That feature can be ruinous in my line of work. I have since learned that you have to use the printer's menu to turn off "Auto Continuous" to disable this.Updated June, 2017: I did have a problem with Tray 2 not working correctly. There was a thumping noise when drawing from Tray 2, and it would say that there was no paper in Tray 2 when there was. After this error happened, Tray 2 disappeared from the settings. It happened several times, and I had to call Technical Support, and they had me delete the entire driver package and reinstall it, and that worked until the next time it happened. I ended up returning the machine and buying another one with the hope that it doesn't happen again.

A workhorse
I wanted a printer for my work. As my work involves accounting and processing a ton of checks, I wanted simple, hard wearing, an option to print first page first (uncheck the wait till spooling has ended option). Yes. It's THAT important when running checks that are registering in sequence to your accounting program. And I learned the hard way prior to getting this. I got an extra paper tray but haven't needed it yet. It's also nice to NOT having to bodily lift a printer in order to pull the paper tray out to swap the type of paper that needs to be in it. It does have a few bells and whistles, wireless, internet connection. I just don't need any of that, nor do I need color. So this is perfect.
