Why do all the tips of my pens keep malfunctioning, all the a sudden my pens will stop writing even with plenty of ink left. Is there a way to fix thi

The way most of these die is with the tiny internal pin coming out through the tip; it happens to more than half of the cartridges before they hit empty. I have never had this same issue with the thicker versions of the pen. Certain types of paper trigger it to happen reproducibly but its usually random on normal copier paper.

Does this ultra fine pen ink bleed or feather when writing on ordinary printer paper? What about on cheap college notebook? Thank you.

Normally it doesn't bleed through but since it's a gel pen, scribbling on the same part over and over again will eventually bleed through but it takes quite a while before that happens. Usually doesn't smear but they can sometimes leave small balls of runny ink that can smear so just watch for those. I use the cheap notebooks from back to school sales and you can see through the pages but technically not bleed through.

Are these pens waterproof?

Read some posts that said they did. This from the co.'s FAQ section: Which Pilot pens are water resistant and/or water-proof? While many of our inks are highly water-resistant and won’t easily smear, none of our pens are 100% water-proof on every surface. Permanent markers are clearly the most water-resistant, followed by Ball Point pens and advanced ink Ball Point pens because the ink is oil-based. Gel ink, which is found in our G2 and other gel lines, contain water in its base but is still water-resistant, while Rolling Ball ink is the least water-resistant. Hope that helps!

Does it bleed through fine, thin paper?

We use the fine point "05" Pilot G-2. While I don't write on anything thinner than 20 lb computer grade paper I think that since the fine grade puts down less ink the chance of "bleed-through" would be reduced. A hard surface on the paper has a better chance to avoid bleed.
