Whoops... this is one side. No lock and no key! Had no idea this was possible. Sorry thanks anyhow.

Lock did not include a plate for other side of door. Instructions say to drill 1 5/8 inch hole and be careful to NOT DRILL ALL THE WAY THRU DOOR. Anyone who has installed a door knob knows that is almost impossible. The point guide on a spade bit or hole saw will punch thru the other side. Then the instructions say you can order a 'cover' plate which costs 2 X the cost of the lock.

Kwikset could have made this a little easier to install. I used it to replace the interior keyed lock on our deadbolt (I don't like having to use a key to exit our home. Seems dangerous if there's a fire.) I had to swap some parts from the exterior lock in order for this to work. It would be nice if Kwikset kept the actuating bars arranged so that this could easily replace the interior lock without having to take everything apart. Other than that, it worked okay.

Some deadbolts can be adjusted but not this one. It doesn’t fit properly in any of my doors. The chrome color looks cheap. I suggest measuring the door locks before buying and stay away from this type of deadbolt.

My bad for not reading the whole description, but who sells just the top 1/2 of a deadbolt? Well, that's what this is, so unless you need the thumb part, buy a whole deadbolt.

The Lock was very easy to install, and the hardware that came with it was sturdy. It is great for when you just have to have a top lock to safely lock the door in two places.

I purchased this lock to give a little added security while my wife and I were at home. The installation was quite easy, given you had the correct tools already. The lock is well made and very sturdy, with a solid feeling locking mechanism. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is the instructions were a little difficult to read. They tell you how to get it done, but I had to read and re-read to make sure I understood. Overall, a great, simple keyless lock.

The description fails to mention you need to purchase a separate backing with a key. Bought a fill in cover plate at my hardware store and threw this out. Thankfully it was only $3.There should be a warning it cannot be installed on its own.
