LOVE THESE SPONGES!
This was the first time that I ordered this brand of sponges. I prefer more natural sponges, as I find the store brands absorb odors, and they don’t dissipate. I will definitely order these again. They work very well, and hold up!

They are fine.
I mean how can you actually rate a sponge? It works like you would expect a sponge to work. Pretty simple.

Misleading title, not plastic free
I should’ve read the details more carefully, but I was mislead by the false title which says “Natural” “Plastic Free” “Compostable” “Natural Fiber” “Eco-Friendly” “Biodegradable.” It can’t be any of these things because the scrubby part is 40% Polyester! Polyester is a type plastic! Also returning it because the box they came in was covered in weird stains.

BROU -Everything you should expect from an environmental sustainable product
BROU sponges are the best environmental friendly and user friendly sponges I have ever bought! They come in a carton box which is environmental friendly, but also keep the sponges from moulding. You can even wash these sponges. I use them for my washing up- not scratched anything to far, and for cleaning. More tough stains need some muscle, but cleans better than other environmental sponges I have tried. I have previously bought other cleaning sponges from Amazon, but despite being cheaper, I had to bin most of them as they were mouldy. So the price was quite pricey, and they did not wash up properly and fell easily apart. Also, they were wrapped in plastic, which in itself, err on the wrong side of selling an environmental friendly product. I have also bought some in shops but they were to coarse and not user friendly.I have now bought BROU sponges twice, and not yet been let down. They may seem pricey but due to their long durability you get value for your money. Also, they are produced in Denmark where labour and production are more expensive than other countries. The environmental friendliness is as described on the site. I don't often give 5 starts, or even review on Amazon, but in this case, I really wanted to give some feedback to my fellow environmental friendly sponge seekers out there!Brou is worth more than a try -but for all the sponges out there, do give them a go, as every thing is individual, but I will be surprised if not up to its standards. And if this is the case, BROU's customer service may be helpful... not used it, as just so happy for my products.

Misleading
The title and immediate description of this product are misleading. There are recycled polyester fibres used on top as the scourer, meaning it's not totally environmentally friendly. These fibres can be lost during usage and can end up contaminating the water cycle. I will be returning to my coconut topped sponges in future.

Someone doesn't know what plastic is!
Says Plastic Free in the title. On the box it has made "with recycled Polyester"Polyester is a toxic plastic the last time I checked!I just checked... "As a plastic and petroleum-based product, polyester is non-biodegradable and highly toxic to our planet. ... Natural and low-impact dyes do not work on polyester fibers, so harmful chemical dyes are used and later disposed of in our waterways."How does the polyester compose down? So eco-friendly!!!!

Perfect
We don't have a dishwasher so we go through sponges really quickly - especially during lockdown when we're cooking and eating at home three times a day with lots of coffee! So lots of washing up.A normal sponge from the supermarket lasts us about 2 weeks. This is still going strong after nearly a month. So although the cost is higher, it's better for the environment and it lasts longer.Another annoying thing about supermarket sponges is the green bits of sponge (from the scourer side) that gets left behind and bits of sponge we find on our cutlery when dry - my husband is very heavy handed when washing. We don't have that problem now.I gave it 4 stars because of the price but if you can afford the price tag this is perfect. We will only be using this from now on.

Natural? Not accurate!
It works well, comparable to the synthetic ones. I can’t comment on durability yet, but may do so later. My only disappointment is that the sponge portion is not 100% recyclable, which I only noticed after purchase, printed on the packaging. I doubt every customer will remember to separate it from the scouring part to dispose the sponge as normal waste.
