HI, this is designed for the Aluminum version of the GROSCHE Milano Moka pot (and its compatible with other major brands in the same exact size as well). As such, the filter plate is made from food grade anodized aluminum. thank you for the question I hope this answers it for you. thank you !

yes its a permanent filter and is reused again and again. To wash simply rinse in running water and do not put it in the dishwasher. i hope that helps answer your question!
