Easy to install and exactly what i was looking for

Easy to install. Looks great and works well! Went through a car wash with no problems.

This stubby antenna looks great from the outside, and you cannot see it from the inside. This might be the cause of the problem though. The antenna does not not rise above the fender. The reception goes to nothing very quickly as you are near the edges of the broadcast area, or if driving in the mountains. My original long antenna could pick up stations in my mountain cabin, that were just static with this short antenna. I just now bought the longer 16" version, and it is way better.

I don't know why Jeep bothers with their spiral metal antennas they install on all Jeeps because the moment you drive away in your new (or new to you) Jeep, you notice the way the wind catches it, whipping it around like lasso and making a lot of noise during the drive. What I like about this trail rated short (or nubby) antenna is that it looks great, it's flexible so it can take the carwash rollers and the sound is great through it and quiet from it while driving. I have other Jeeps and replace all of the stock antennas with the nubby flexible antennas. This one is easy to install and I always like to secure it with a bit of glue so that someone else can't come along and help themselves to it.

Looks great, sounds good was not hard to install
