Extech42510A Mini IR Thermometer with Wide Temperature Range

Built with Quality and Easy to Use! I use this daily for home inspections. It has withstood daily use, including accidental drops from waist high. I’ve had it for 19 months (and counting) and it still works well. 100% will buy this again if needed!!Pros:* Quick Response - only takes 1-2 seconds to read temperatures* Easy to Use - just point and push the button* Scan Feature - you can hold the trigger and scan areas with continuous temperature readings* Fits in my pocket!Cons:(Hardly any cons, but here is my honest feedback)* Sometimes when I drop it from waist high the battery compartment opens up (battery does not disconnect, however). This is definitely my own fault though!!* Get Closer for Accuracy - The closer you are, the more accurately you can pinpoint a particular area for temperature readings. Not necessarily a “con” as much as helpful info.

The accuracy did not seem very reliable compared to other instruments.

Extech IR400 Mini is working perfect for me. I use it to roast coffee beans as well as general use around the house. It is small enough to put in pocket when not needing to hold it. easy to use, no learning curve.

This is fabulous! I can check pan or oven temperature so easily for accuracy. My son-in-law used it to check the temperature on his outside grills. My granddaughters used it to check how hot the outside chairs were: leave it to children to come up with "important" uses.

Right price, seems to be accurate, only con is that I had trouble with getting the laser to light when I first got it

I spent a lot of money on this and not even a 6 months old and the laser pointer doesn't work, it's not accurate. and it takes too long to get a reading when it did work. I will not buy ANY MORE extech equipment of any kind any neither should you if you're reading this. it's JUNK ! If they can't even make a thermometer, well I'm glad I didn't buy the more expensive moisture meter.

This tells us when our wood fired hearth is hot enough to bake pizzas (700 degrees F) without burning ourselves. Works great.
