I don't want to sound cheesy, but I don't think there are words to describe how powerful "Instant Self Hypnosis " is. This book allows you to reprogram your subconscious mind. Our minds are like computers. If you don't run virus scans, download updates and install the proper software, you're computer isn't going to run very well. The mind/subconscious is the same way. Self-Hypnosis acts as a virus scanner cleaning up our flaws, and a software program that can add new positive features to our mind/subconscious and personality.This book is an extremely easy read that is very potent with information about self-hypnosis. The author doesn't have an agenda, besides helping people. You don't have to worry about looking up big words on you dictionary app every 3 lines, and the sentences aren't paragraphs loaded with commas. The beautiful thing is you can completely understand all of the basics about self-hypnosis and forget about all the misconceptions /myths, in several hours if you're a fast reader or a day if you're not a fast reader. This is very important because understanding the what's, why's and how's along with a positive attitude is the key to getting results.Chapter 1 "It's all in your mind"This chapter basically explains the relationship and aspects between the conscious and the subconscious. It talks about the similarities between programming the computer and programming the mind and how to access the subconscious to make lasting improvements.Chapter 2 "What you should know about Hypnosis"This chapter gives a clear definition of what hypnosis is/what it isn't, where Hypnosis came from, why its here to stay for a long time. It debunks the misconceptions about hypnosis (ex. how we are in control and aware at all times, opposed to the hypnotist having control over us).Chapter 3 "How I discovered Instant Self Hypnosis"This chapter explains how the author discovered the writing and reading with your eyes open method by accident. He talks about how it is common to experience eyes open hypnosis during various activities without even realizing it (like watching tv or driving). Some of the scripts I have used include: stop stressing out (anxiety), strong immune system, total self-confidence, etc. I was a very anxious person all of my life and never really had the ability to overcome it. After the first 7 days of using the "Stop Stressing Out" script, I have now completely overcome anxiety. If I ever feel like I am getting anxious or tense (which I rarely do anymore) I have two tools that I can instantly turn it off. And it evaporates instantly. Before I would feel tense or short of breath and the only thing that would cure it was time. Now all I need is less than 5 seconds if I do feel nervous, its gone, and nobody would ever know.Chapter 6 "Instant Self-Hypnosis While You Write"This chapter explains how to use the combination of reading an induction and the power of writing.Chapter 7 "The Suggestion template"If you had a particular goal that wasn't included in the 35 scripts you can write your own. Forbes provides a template that you can use as a guide to write your own customized scripts. Good book
Read hypnosis scripts and then learn the components to write them for yourself and others. It's worth reading and practicing.

Best Not Attempted with an Audience
I think this is going to be of value to me in time. Right now I'm struggling to talk myself into a state of hypnosis while two highly interactive cats are in my face, also talking. They want to know what's going on and they demand a response from me. It's difficult to enter into a hypnotic state while you're giggling like a fool. And there's no point in shutting them out of the room; neighbors two houses away would hear about it then.I'm sure this protocol will be useful once my audience gets bored with the whole thing. Soon, I hope.

I like it because it works!
Note: After reading "Instant Self-Hypnosis" and writing the review below, I read the second version of this book: "MORE Instant Self-Hypnosis". If you have not read the first book, I recommend that you skip it and read and use "MORE Instant Self-Hypnosis".---------------------------I was extremely skeptical about this book as I read through it. I'd received it only because it was available for free as a Kindle book.I've read other books and studied hypnosis, including self-hypnosis. I'd had success with some self-hypnosis techniques.Overall, I've not been into hypnosis scripts. I've favored more ad hoc wording. Some parts of the scripts in "Instant Self-Hypnosis" violated some generally accepted principles of hypnosis.I did give the book a chance, because the author nailed three of the biggest problems with trying to use other self-hypnosis books. First, the other books require you to first hypnotic procedures and learn how to create effective suggestions. Most of us probably don't get past that hurdle. Second, the traditional self-hypnosis approaches requires that we prepare and memorize the techniques, because our eyes will be closed if we get as far as implementing the advice. Third, it's very common to fall asleep during self-hypnosis. I've experienced that. Overall, most self-hypnosis books and techniques are difficult to use."Instant Self-Hypnosis" sails by all three of those problems. I selected a behavior pattern I'd unsuccessfully tried to change through self-hypnosis and other methods. The desired behavior pattern was very specific. I decided not to rate or review this book until I had tried the ready-made tools on my challenging situation.Results: The specific behavior pattern changed within one day. And the results are continuing two weeks later. I'll take 20 minutes or so each of the next couple of days to go through the book's self-hypnosis script as directed to help lock in the change. I'm confident that if the new behavior pattern ever starts to slip...and it might (who knows?)...I can quickly use the tools in the book to get the desired results again.I have selected a new behavior pattern I will change using this book after I've completed a couple more sessions with the first pattern.For those wanting to make changes in your lives and who are open to using hypnosis (just a highly suggestible state of mind that all of us enter frequently, such as when we're engrossed in a book or movie or TV show), I recommend that you try this book.I went from being extremely skeptical to finding that the book's tools work...quickly and easily.

Quick & Easy Technique
This was my first attempt at hypnosis. I found the technique to be relaxing. You just read the scripts aloud. However, I remained fully awake and aware of my surroundings, and was not able to clearly visualize the scenes or activities described in the script. The eyes open method eliminates the need to record or memorize the scripts, but may have significant drawbacks.There are 35 scripts to choose from. I began with the one to stop procrastination. So far, the technique has not reduced my procrastination, but in fact has just given me a new way to procrastinate!
