GAR S-22 22 Speciman Surface Roughness Comparator (AS9000 Compliant)

I work as a design engineer and used to borrow a fellow senior engineer's comparator when going to suppliers. This is the exact comparator that I borrowed, happy to have my own. Price is very reasonable (paid $80).

Great surface comparator, but be careful with it as it prints and scratches easily. If you’re new like I am, make sure not to bend it, as these are precision tools. I would like to see one that uses slightly thicker metal or backing just incase.

A little rough in spots.

The surface may look accurate, but the actual roughness is not accurate unless you pay them an extra $180 to get it certified.

It was perfect.

The machining comparator does it's job. It's a handy reference for folks in our shop to review surface condition on machined goods we receive in to make sure they are to spec. It could be better more stout in construction and a little bigger.
