Does the job
We've bought dozens of these that are used in a variety of commercial and home shop applications. They are easy to install, easy to adjust as needed and very rarely have problems. They are also much more affordable than anything available on industrial supply sites. Definitely worth a try.

Works great!
To prevent the drain from cycling too often and when we aren't in the shops where they are used, I wired them to one leg of the 240v power to the compressor motors and the other leg to ground. This isn't code, but the grounds are bonded to the neutrals in the sub panels with good ground wires between. The drains cycle when first powered, so these run each time the compressors cycle and are off when the compressors are off. A silencer/muffler for compressed air, also from Amazon, make the drain quiet enough to stand right next to it without the volume being annoying. The compressors are both old cast iron units that are relatively quiet and very nice, so this topped off a well built air system. It beats trying to remember to drain the tanks. One of the compressors was made in 1947 and was worth rebuilding but it's original tank was beyond rusted. This drain will save the brand new 60 gallon replacement tank.

simple to install
installed mine like others who reviewed it connecting it to the controller. used crimp connectors and some plumbing components as needed. it operated as described. there is a small amount of pressure leakage but i already had some leakage anyway. probably some fitting issues. overall i am satisfied. i have a 20 gallon unit that maxes out at 150 psi and turns back on at 115 psi. i did add a diffuser after the valve so it is very quiet.

Yes its cheap but it works
I have 4 of these setup on my tanks. They are cheap. Gets lose over time. But they WORK. Do over think it. Buy it, install it, and use it. I have had my for 8 months. Still working. If it lasts 2 years I'm happy otherwise in 2 years I would of drained my tanks only about 5 times. You will thank me later. Some of my tanks are from the 1970s. I dont want to lose these

Works great for us
We actually have this connected to two AC's with a "T" fitting. It works perfectly and in our humid Indiana summers is downright essential. Easy to install if you understand tubing fittings and NPT threads. Pretty slick.Later - moved things around, hooked up to one compressor, but it started staying open all the time after a couple of months. Took it apart and cleaned out the inside. Draining from the bottom of a vertical tank, obviously there is a certain amount of junk, flakes, rust, whatever, and this gets into it and then it needs a cleaning. If anything lodges in the valve closure you have to get it out. Just saying. We don't see this as a fault, but were wondering if we should add a prefilter.

Update: Failed within 48 hours + Straight Threads
Update: Failed within 48 hours. This drain worked perfectly for two days and then failed. When I returned to my workshop, the air compressor was running nearly fully-time because the auto drain would not fully close. My other complaint is that this has 1/2" straight threads, while air compressors typically use tapered pipe threads. Most folks are probably jamming NTP threads into this, but you'll need an adapter to get a proper connection. These aren't cheap and they probably aren't available locally. Finally, this unit should come with two rubber washers. One rubber washer was loose in the box and the second was missing.

EVEN WORKS IN COMMERCIAL SETTING!
I don't usually leave reviews but I'm back to buy the second one after the last one put 5 years in a commercial setting running constantly night and day for 5 years... It's still working but the spring is wearing out so that it doesn't always want to close all the way after opening under pressure. It's a good product!

Convenient way to automatically drain your compressor, but there's room for improvement
I installed this on my 60 gallon 3HP air compressor. I'm happy with its performance. However, like others have mentioned here, with the timer, you're limited to drainage intervals every 45 minute in a 24 hour time period. 24 times a day is overkill. There's no way to set the timer for say once a day, which would be optimal when the compressor isn't being used daily. At the moment, to get around this, and for ease of use, I connected the timer to a remote outlet that I can just turn on when I enter the shop. At some point I'll probably directly connect it to the compressor auto on switch, but that's more work to do that I dont have time for. At this point, the Zijia makes draining the air compressor less of a hassle, but it could be so much better if they improved the timer for once a day. That said, if the timer was improved, and some of the parts were made of metal instead of plastic, I'd give it 5 stars.
