Perfect for indoor exercise equipment too!
I bought this as a durable floor protector to put under my exercise equipment, which in my case is a bicycle trainer. This would also work very well for other heavy exercise equipment like treadmills, exercise bikes (Peloton), and bicycle trainers. Traditional exercise mats, which are made of a soft foam (often called "high density foam"), are prone to wearing out from the vibrations and movement of heavy exercise equipment. They also rub residue only floors as they wear. This silicone mat, on the other hand, is very durable. Besides the anti-slip diamond-plate-like embossing, the mat is smooth, which makes it easy to clean. It's not very thick, maybe a little more than 1/16th of an inch (~2mm), so it might not be ideal to protect carpet without a sheet of wood underneath. For silicone, it is relatively heavy and lays flat right out of the box, which was not what I expected (I always assumed silicone was soft and pliable, like a silicone watch band or measuring cup). It is easy to cut with a razor blade or shears--I trimmed off the corners on one end to get it to fit better at a 45 degree angle relative to my wall--but appears as though it would resist impacts from dropping heavy items on it. It was, after all, designed for supporting an outdoor BBQ grill.Other uses: Based on my experience, this mat would likely work very well for placing under a BBQ grill, or any other heavy equipment, as it is advertised to do. It would be great as a liner for a section of your garage floor (under a leaky car or tool box). I would not, however, recommend it to be used as an indoor floor mat or rug. It would be likely be too slick for wiping shoes, especially wet or muddy shoes. And it would likely move around on hard floors without constant weight on it. It works great for exercise equipment, because the weight of the equipment pins it in place, even on my smooth laminate floors.

It fits my need
I am not using it for it’s intended purpose, in fact I can confirm it comes all folded and I don’t know how you would logically get those bends out. I am using it in the bottom of a closet where there is a crawl space access in our hardwood. I used it to help keep draft out and for that it has been working beautifully and my husband just stacks his sneakerhead boxes on it. I’m sure it would be great for under a sink too. I was able to cut to size and have some left over which we have used in our dog van infringe of their kennels. If you used it with something heavy to keep it held in place or tacked down in the corners it’s made of thick material. I can’t imagine moving anything across it whiteout it bunching up because of the deep creasing from shipping and the raised pattern. If it was shipped rolled up instead of folded in a lump maybe this would be prevented? It is massive though and was bigger than advertised in my case.

Multi-use mat
Easy to roll up and put down. When it first arrived used at our front door as a place to take off shoes after weeklong snowstorm. Done a great job of keeping floor dry and no slippery surface to fall down on. Easy to mop up afterwards. Works good under the grill as well.

Piece of junk
Curls up on the sides. Even after laying out in the sun. Thought I was buying a quality product. I hate it. Sorry there’s no 0 stars option.

Too thin.
The ends of the mat rolled up after just two days on the deck in the sun. The material is far too thin for sunny deck areas.

Great, but look out for the trapped moisture underneath
it does as it should however it WILL trap moisture underneath. Periodically I remove it and let the decking dry out. Sadly there's no win win for this situation.

it was ok
mat always wanted to curl up on the edges an did not want to stay flat. due to the edges curling up and feet constantly getting caught on them, the edges started to tear. if it wasnt for it curling up i would have given it 5 stars.
