Get This Leash!!
After owning this leash for 6 months, I am very happy with this purchase! I used to train dogs professionally and have used all kinds of dog leashes including nylon, leather, rope, and even chain. I had never tried a biothane leash until this one, and it out performs even expensive leather leashes. It's sturdy and feels good in your hand without feeling too stiff. It hasn't shown any signs of cracking or wear, and the metal attachments feel high quality and have handled pulling from strong dogs without failure (which was an issue in many reviews of other biothane brands). Best of all, unlike leather, it doesn't stink when it's wet or muddy, and is incredibly easy to clean with a cloth and mild soap and water. I would not recommend letting your dog bite or chew on any leash, but this can handle a bit more teeth than say a nylon or rope leash before it needs to be replaced. For $20, this is a great, reliable leash for both experienced and new dog owners!

Perfect for 80 lb Bernedoodle, 10 ft. 3/4 inch Orange
Very sturdy. Feels good in the hand. We purchased the 10 ft. 3/4 inch leash. Note that the brass clip might be a little heavy for a little dog but perfect for medium to large. I debated on width but am very happy with 3/4 inch, thinner might have felt wierd because of the somewhat rubbery material and wider would have felt too heavy. The orange color is great for walking our mostly black Bernedoodle in the evening. 10 ft. is perfect for letting Hank sniff around but can be pulled in close when heeling. Material seems very durable. Hank brings us the leash when he wants to walk and sometimes he will chew on it a little bit but it doesn't even leave a mark. Very happy with this purchase. 4-24-23 This is the wifey here. I just wanted to add that although initially, I was not crazy about a vinyl leash, but I guess the hubby was right about this one. It can go through mud, water, snow, etc. and you never need to worry about it. I just rinse it off or wipe it down with some Clorox wipes and it's good as new. Hank didn't chew on this, like he did on the fabric ones. I also like the heavier weight, yet the narrower feel in my hand. The wind can't blow it around and when it gets tangled in bushes, I just give it a good tug and it outlasts whatever it is caught on. It is soft and flexible.

Great training line
I have a young 85 lb Rhodesian Ridgeback. I was tired of using the nylon long lines for recall training since they are always wet and difficult to clean up. They also constantly tangle and give him and me rope burns if we get rambunctious (and that can be the definition of a Ridgeback <lol>) I love my 6 foot biothane leash, so decided to try a long line in this material. I chose the 1/2" x 33" line and absolutely love it. It doesn't knot up, grab on brush much, is light, and the orange line is bright and easy to see. My dog no longer pulls on a line/leash, but he has hit it a couple of times accidentally when running like a maniac in circles around me during play. It's a good, sturdy line. Best part is after a wet muddy winter romp through the fields this line literally shakes off and dries in minutes. If it gets drug through something nasty, a quick wipe with a rag is all it takes. Biothane is worth the money IMHO. Note: this is not a tie out. It is a training tool for supervised sessions. If you let your dog mouth or chew on it, it will not hold up any better than any other leash except chain.

My new favorite leash
Over the past few months I've been doing a lot of training with my 3yr old Golden Retriever, and I've bought a lot of different types of leashes, collars and leads to try to find what works best for us. I have a sad graveyard of stuff I hated that I'm going to donate to a local shelter, so when I say this is my favorite leash, its because I've tried basically everything else. I love these leashes because they're lightweight and simple. When I first began my training I had a heavier nylon leash with a traffic handle and it was just too heavy. When you're trying to communicate with your dog through the leash with just a light tug, it helps with the leash itself isn't constantly weighing things down and creating leash pressure all on its own! I own this biothane leash in black in both 6ft and 4ft lengths as well as a 15ft long lead and they are all fantastic. They're heavy enough to withstand my 70lb dog trying to sprint toward a squirrel, but light and nimble enough that I can comfortably carry it with a fingertip. Unlike with nylon there is no rope burn if your dog's still learning and takes off. Unlike leather, they don't get stinky and gross from handling and getting dirty. They quickly wipe off and are good as new! If you're looking for a good quality leash that's appropriate for a large dog, I highly recommend these.

Working Control
The viper leash is made for training your pup with great control and ease. Unlike other lightweight chew proof leashes this one offers thickness and weight to the leash the others missed. It’s a great value with even my trainer saying unlike other biothane leashes it had amazing stitching and was not sticky gummy like some other brands can be. The biothane K9 is waterproof making it great for training. Handle is practical with a ring for hooking your waste bags or other small items needed. Size perfect for my use in training to teach closeness but also allows me to properly correct again.

Good washable leash
I like this leash for the material. The biothane is easy to wash when it gets dirty. It’s pretty sturdy, too. Like any other material, though, a dog can chew through it if left with it to chew on. I like the bright colors, too.

Great leash
An excellent leash for my husky mix. She doesn't pull intensely and is about 50 lbs. I have a bigger dog that's also a husky mix, but he's mixed with a German Shepherd and is *super strong*. For him, I'm going to get something thicker. For dogs that aren't ridiculously strong and large? I think this'd work well! Someone also gave me a handy tip: biothane is easy to clean. That's part of why I bought this, too.

This was in and out of my shopping cart for a good 2 months. I was hesitant over the price, and I already had a 20 foot cheap PVC-coated leash which I figured was basically the same thing. But I finally took the plunge and grabbed this, and my only regret is that I didn't get one sooner! It feels very premium from the handle to the clip. I trust it way more than my cheap leash when my dog lunges for squirrels (we're working on it...). Bonus: no rope burns like you'd get from a nylon leash. My dog's still a puppy and occasionally goes to play with the leash, but the sturdy construction of this makes me much less concerned about a nip compromising the integrity of this leash (I still redirect to a toy ASAP to be safe haha). The Biothane construction makes it good for walking through fields/less urban environments as it's significantly less likely to snag on burrs and other annoying debris. The only potential con is that the leash/clip are a little heavy. This makes the leash sturdy, but I could see it being annoying for a smaller dog in the under-20 lb category due to the leash and clip swaying during a walk, assuming you are using it as a long line and not a short line. I do wish it had the option for a O-shape clasp, but that's just a style preference - the traditional clip works just fine.

Where is the O ring pictured? All the Viper leads seem to have one, but both my leads come without.

favorite leash i own. comes in varying lengths and widths, which is incredibly helpful! i got the smallest width 1:2 inch that is 4.5 meters long. has become a great daily leash for my adolescent dog, without having to commit to the complexity of handling a “long line”. easy to store. seems to be sturdy but only time will tell.
