Oh this cabbage is good. I make an eastern European noodle dish with it. Baba would be proud to serve this. To translate this: The dish is called halushki and Baba is Granny. GLORY !!!

I boil fresh cabbage in chicken broth. It is an excellent diuretic for my 92 year old father in law who lives with us. Even the doctor is amazed! Just fresh cabbage, a can or two of chicken broth, and perhaps an onion and some garlic, if I have some that needs to be used. I got this to be a fill-in on the chance that I can't make a batch of my soup for him, and he tried it. He said it was far too salty to eat straight. It won't go to waste, I ill use it in other soups I make. If I every have a chance to pull out my pressure canner, I might make my own cabbage and chicken broth; but it will be a long time before I get to that. I certainly won't use as much salt as they did!
