Works great
This style vent is excellent as it allows for improved airflow and does not clog.As it is tucked out of the way it provides for a pretty clean finishDrawbacks- sticker that holds the flap closed for shipping is a pain to remove- No color options to match soffits

Useless Junk
This item is garbage, it does not meet the requirements of a soffit mounted dryer duct. The aluminum is so thin that it flexes and the air door remains completely open allowing external air or critters into the opening. If you could find a way to mount it so the thin metal does not bend the door still remains open enough to let air and critters in. It is garbage and not worth buying.t

poor design on the flap that covers the opening
poor design on the flap that covers the opening, does not come close to shutting completely, even with the vacuum effect inside the house from central air system. connection points to the flap have an extreme amount of play in them..Did not use, purchased another style that was much higher quality & functionality for basically the same price.

Good Dryer Eave Vent
Converted a roof mounted dryer vent to this eave vent. The thickness is a little on the thin side and makes it a little flimsy but will work. I added a 1/2 inch wire grid to keep the the mice and small critters from entering and making a nest.

If it's your house and its a nice house don't consider this.
I know you may be desperate for solution but this is not it. The flap that acts as a damper has a sticker on it to keep it closed during shipping. The mere act of pealing the 2 inch sticker off can drastically bend the flap. I had to do it like a surgeon. My vent came and the box was tossed over my gate and even with packing it distorted and bent the vent. I don't blame the guy it felt like there was nothing in it. I was able to use my hands to bend everything back into place but there was some buckling that I couldn't iron out.If you've ever crushed an aluminum can with your hand, this vent is a similar gage and could easily be crushed by you. The flapper is not quite flat and you can bend and tweak it but it will never be totally flat. Don't do it! Move on... there is nothing to see here.

Self closing
one of the few under eave exhaust openings that self closed

Wow, what a piece of junk!
The concept is exactly what I wanted but the execution leaves a lot to desire. The workmanship is terrible and unless it is installed in a perfect world it will not close completely. The flange isn’t crimped tight enough and won’t really fit inside a 4” duct. I fought with this garbage for several hours and it’s installed but I still can’t get it to close completely. It would also have been nice if there was some sort of bug screen for it. Unless you absolutely HAVE to come out of a soffit for your installation, I’d keep looking for something better.
