SicceSpace EKO 100 Canister Filter, for freshwater and saltwater, for external use|145 GPH

Priming was a learning curve!I had the canister empty with initial setup. Primed (pulled handle at top) more than 20 times to see inflow slowly trickle in the inflow tube and Noticed simultaneously that the outflow tubing was filling faster well. . I saw the infliw tubing flowing liquid but but filling the line fully but running down the in flow tube trickling. Then I turned the canister on to see if the unit would run. It did but I noticed the flows were not there. The inflow line barely trickling and seeing the line not being filled and the outflow line filled fully but the outflow (on max flow setting) not pushing the water. So I turned off the canister again, and unhooked the inflow tubing out from the water. Twisted the bottom off from plastic hard tubing to make sure the ball was clean and clear (which it was). Then lifted the outflow out of the water to make sure nothing was stuck in there causing resistance (no outflow (nothing was blocking). Put both lines in place. Primed inflow 10 more times. Feeling it was difficult to pull the primer, the more I tugged on it. I was getting concerned because inflow line would not fill as opposed to outflow line filled fully. Turned on canister a second time, this time I saw the water running down the inflow line more quickly than before. I let it run like that for 10 minutes. Waiting patiently looking to see if inflow line would fill. Then I turned off a third time to prime again! And that did it. I must have pulled on that primer more than 50 times . Now both lines (inflow and outflow) filled and the outflow finally seeing the rippling effect and the flow of water around the tank. Super silent. I like it but was concerned about this aspect.Did anyone notice that all the set up for this canister on YouTube seemed to peculiarly skip over the priming part….

I have had this canister filter running for 2 years with no issues. Ordering spare parts from Sicce is a breeze! Great product!!!

This is the only time I've written a review. I feel very strongly about this product.Drawing a prime on it is nearly impossible. I've used this a few times. I just wanted to clean up some junk on the bottom of my tank, should only take a few mins. I spend 30 mins trying to prime for the 5 mins of actual work.I've owned many canister filters. This was not designed properly. Trust me, drawing a prime on this is nearly impossible, you and the room with be bathing in aquarium water before this pump will start actually drawing any water.Stay away and use something more tried and tested. Sicce has always made a quality product but this is a big fail.

Have it in an aquarium in my family room. It’s absolutely silent and does a great job at filtering

Six months into ownership, the "primer stem" has become nearly impossible to operate. See page 13, illustration # 14. Anyone try to lubricate this?And who do I contact for replacement parts??

This canister filter has my favorite tray system out any canister I have used so far, it's also really quiet, the only negative about it is that the intake priming tube feels a bit flimsy and one of the rubber feet wouldn't go in fully and fell off, and this filter bring some of the worst biomedia that I have ever seen but other than those things this is a great filter and I would recommended

The media could not be loaded.  First, let me say that I love this company. Now this product is easy to set up. Good instruction is very quiet. One good major thing about this company is they are cost efficient. They stand by their products. I would recommend this product for any of their products to anyone.

Product arrived after a week and was well packaged. There was some confusion surrounding the number of hoses in the box. What is not clearly indicated is that there is only one hose that needs to be cut in two. Sicce offered great after sales services in answering questions and offering an extra hose (thank you!) The canister works great on a 20 gallon, and is quiet. No issues with leaks and easy to assemble (except the rubber feet, those are a lost cause). Yes the parts are plastic, but high enough quality you do not need to fight to tighten anything, or to get the hose on. Overall, it has been a few days and I love how quiet it remains,letting me work without sounding like an airliner is landing next to my desk (yes that is you Eheim canister).

Nice filter, not much info out there on the Eko's.- I have Sicce Whale, Hydor, Fluval, this one has nothing inferior about it's features.- bought the 200 for a smaller 17gal aquarium, for some reason the 100 was more coin, but it does have a throttling feature on the outlet.- looks simple to clean, with impeller easy to access.- nice basket system, better than Whale as it limits what you can put in the last basket up against the impeller housing.- quiet- doesn't leak- so far.My only complaint is seller packaging for shipping- they REALLY need to up their game, due to shipping in the retail box, first purchase was returned due to trashed box and missing parts.
