Digital Display Resistance Decade Box-(1/2Watt)

The Guanruixin Digital Display Resistance Decade Box greatly reduced the time for me to determine the resistance need to match a homemade air coil. I also checked the decade box resistance before using to ensure what I selected for resistance was what I measured on 4000 count multi-meter they matched!

I am making some video tutorials, and these are great for easily allowing me to swap out a resistance while allowing my viewers to know exactly what value I am using! I ordered a second one and it works just as well. The angle needs to be propped up slightly, depending on where my video camera is, but that is my only complaint. These are much easier to use than the jumper-type resistance decade boards (but the price is high, so I only own two of there and I use a jumper-type resistance decade board for any additional resistors that need adjusting.) If you have the money and are making video tutorials, I highly recommend over the alternatives.

I've been wanting a decade box for awhile, and this one was very reasonably priced. Arrived in a decent storage box in anti-static packaging. The mechanical switches have a smooth action and seem like they will be durable. The resistance values are accurate, and the terminals have several connection options. Will work for my needs.

I would not recommend this product. The quality of workmanship was good to excellent. It had surface mount resistors. I like the Cherry (brand name) switches. Easy to push. However, the worst part about this product is that I could not get a reading above 320 ohm. This is a 11 Meg ohm decade box. I was testing each of the switches to verify the range. I could not get any readings above 320 ohms. The manufacture needs to do a better job at verifying the performance and the accuracy. I would not recommend this to no one. Big disappointment. I sent this unit back to amazon. I'll be ordering those cherry switches that they used and I'll be make my own decade box.

I'm really pretty impressed with this product, especially considering how little it cost. Construction is not industrial-quality, but is fine for sitting on a hobbyist workbench. I really like the up/down buttons for dialing in values. The connection points are standard banana plug sockets that unscrew into bare-wire terminals. For the price I could see having a couple of these sitting around.Using 2-wire or 4-wire resistance measurements with my 5.5 digit Siglent bench multimeter, I measured the value of each setting for each decade. Set for 0 ohms, the resistance is 1.244 ohms, which is the one real disadvantage, as others have noted. That value stays as a pretty constant bias regardless of what other values are chosen, so it's not hard to compensate for. Here are the maximum errors I measured for each decade, after removing the 1.244 ohm bias. Except for the 1ohm decade, everything is well below 1% tolerance.1M: 0.13%100K: 0.20%10K: 0.19%1K: 0.13%100: 0.49%10: 0.53%1: 1.85%I created a little Excel spreadsheet containing all the measured values that allows me to type in a single desired resistance and it tells me what to dial in for each of the 7 decades. With that I can easily get the desired resistance to within about 0.01%.

Measured a large number of values and they were very accurate.

Was literally missing some solder connections when it arrived. After doing it myself, it seemed to work fairly well. Does not seem as perfectly accurate as others I have, but got the job done.
