Works with X99 Platform
Until recently the XC9 only came in silver, so when I saw a black version released I had to get it to finish off my build. I have X99 Platform (2011-3 socket) which is quite old now, but this block fits perfectly. The RGB lighting looks good and the flow on my water-cooling loop seems to be running faster now since installing, so I assume less restrictive than my previous CPU block EK X99 Supreme. There is a dedicated in and out, which strangely is the wrong way around for most loops. You can mount it rotated 180 degrees to correct this, and 4 screws on the back means you can rotate the trim back the opposite way to keep the corsair logo at the bottom. Performance wise, it seems on par with the EK CPU block i had before, its just better looking.

Was a little unsure, as it was on the cheap side, that said the install was super easy and the look goes well with my pc! No complaints here!
