Ideal size for countertop ice making machines. Great quality.
LabRat makes laboratory equipment. I checked their website. Being so, they have to maintain high quality for their equipment. Being so, the 3 oz scoop is no exception. The handle is smooth, ergonomic, and long enough to comfortably fit in your palm. There was a nice heft to it. The plastic scoop that came with my ice-making machine was 4 oz capacity, but with a 2 inch stick handle which was uncomfortable to hold. Also it does not do well in breaking up ice cube chunks that have frozen together. A few taps from the stainless steel scoop easily breaks them apart. I highly recommend this ice scoop from LabRat for countertop ice-making machines or even an ice bucket.

Exactly what we needed for ice in freezer
If you have an ice bin in your freezer, you need one of these. This is the perfect size to reach in and scoop up a cup of ice for your next drink. If you happen to have some cubes stuck together, this metal scoop is what you need to gently tap them apart, or forcefully stab at them like I do!! Ha HaThe scoop is well-made. Although I’ve only had mine for a few months, I think it will hold up a long time. This has been a really good purchase.

The Scoop
Very well made. Bought to shovel soil out of bag into flower pot. Worked better than a garden shovel.

Very nice
Nice and heavy enough. Looks more expensive than it is. I’m using it with a crystal ice bucket for a party.

Works but not perfectly manufactured
I ordered two of these and both have the handle attached off center. They are still usable but are a little annoying because if the angle created by the off center handle. The handle shape is nice and has a good weighted balance in my hand. I'm not unhappy with these but when it's time to replace, I will probably look at another brand because of the off centered handle placement.

Ice Scoop
I purchased this to scoop ice from the freezer bin. It is made of stainless steel and very durable. I also like that it has a shiny finish. Very pleased with this purchase.

Very sturdy scoop. Easy to use even to dig out packed brown sugar.
Really nicely made scoop - highly polished stainless steel. Just the right size to get out the hard to get at flour or sugar (especially brown sugar) out of the large 4 and 5 liter Bormioli storage jars. Fits easily inside the Bormioli jars my mom uses to store her flour, sugar, etc which are 4-5 liter in size and therefore hard to dig out whatever is stored there when they get down to about half full. This is a great boon for her since she weighs ingredients, this is a perfect vehicle for extricating the ingredient and gently shaking it out of the scoop and into the vessel she uses to weigh the flour, sugar or the like. She had been using smaller measuring cups to do the same job but she said whatever she was trying to weigh often spilled out of the measuring cup and onto the scale - with the scoop, it's a simple slide from the scoop to the vessel in which she weighed the ingredient. Much neater, easier and cleaner way to do the job. She said it was the right tool for the job and the only way it could be any better was to have another scoop with a 2" longer handle so when things get all the way to the bottom, she could still reach the flour, sugar or nuts in the 5 liter jars. She loved it!I got this as a gift from my son and have had it now for a year and a half. It never discolored with washing and I've used it on sea salt, and regular iodized salt and nothing has ever taken away it's shiny exterior. When I thought I'd lost it, I found it was irreplaceable and I bought one from RSVP. Not nearly as nice, it cost much more than the $3.99 for it last February - now if available, it's $49.99! I'm very glad I found it as it was and is the best tool for the jobs for which I use it. Where did you go LabRat Supplies? You're missed!
