Awesome!
I've only used this for a couple of shoots using it on manual control on camera as a bounce flash, and off camera using an optical trigger. So far, it's just as powerful as my older Nikon flashes and seems to be built very, very well. I like that it comes with the gels too, even though they could be fitted a bit better. All in all a fantastic unit for the price. Highly recommended.

This is NOT a TTL flash!
I bought this flash for one reason: I want on-camera TTL ability and this flash doesn't deliver it despite all of the manufacture's info saying that it does. It's not until after buying it and reading the manual I discover that TTL is only available if you spend another $230 for an Odin wireless flash controller. Well screw that: I wanted a flash I can flip to full auto for situations where I don't have the time to futz with manual flash settings so this is a COMPLETE FAILURE and a borderline fraud. Those of you who knew this flash didn't support on-camera TTL: unless you can show me where this was made ABUNDANTLY clear then take your disagreements with my review and shove them where flashes cannot illuminate.

Are there things I'd like? Of course
I've been using it for about a year now. It's phenomenal for the price. Are there things I'd like? Of course. Are they things that are reasonable in the 200-300 dollar price range? No. As accent lights in studio, or as an on location light. Recently I took it out for a cloudless, midday shoot (I know, I still complain about it) just to see what I could do without dragging strobes all over the place. It did ok, about in line with what I expected. Overall, if you're new to off camera lighting and want to experiment with more lighting control, buy the lumopro.Pros:-Price-Performance is great for what it is-Gels! And the Gel Holder! (I think this 6'4" 300lb man might have "eeee"d)-FlexibilityCons-Slightly underpowered-Recycle time could be faster-Standby or Idle mode would be phenomenalOverall, these are great little flashes. I'll be buying 2-3 more to go in my travel kit and to have around the studio. Big giant strobes are great, but I'm getting pretty sick of carrying them around.

Perfection in a cheap package.
I just have to say these are some of the best off camera speedlights ever! They take a beating and do what they are supposed to do! I have 4 of them. Some of these reviews giving one start stating that they were lied to and they are falsely advertising ttl and hss... what a joke. The words off camera flash are literally in the name!!!

Does NOT support Nikon TTL
Advertising says "Nikon users can use the LP180R’s TTL mode to get the right exposure.." No they can't. Manual control only.Very misleading and disappointing from LumoPro, they say TTL in both advertising and operating manual. If TTL is what you need, you'll need to go the route of Nikon flash and Phottix receiver, or Phottix flash.

but because they are that good! Since I am just starting out really using ...
Within the last week, I have bought 2 of the LumoPro LP180R. Not because there was anything wrong with the first one, but because they are that good! Since I am just starting out really using OCF I didn't really have the money to spend on a full strobe kit. These flashes are giving me great light and are easy for me to carry around. Having the Phottix Odin built in into the slash is great since I don't have to purchase triggers! The best part about my purchase? The hand written thank you card I received when both flashes were delivered. MPEX is awesome like that.

Solid Build - Solid Buy!
I absolutely love this flash. It is solidly built and I have had no issues with it at all. Very versatile and works extremely well with my Nikon DSLRs and Photix Odin transmitter. I have two, wanting to buy a third.

A flash actually designed for lighting junkies
This is a perfect speedlite for $230, specifically designed for people who love using off camera flash. You can trigger it every way imaginable (pc, 3.5mm, optical, radio). I need wired sync sometimes (using leaf shutter on Fuji X100) and the 3.5 mm jack is a big improvement over pc chords (and it works with stereo jacks so you can use super common male-male audio extension cables). Unlike the LP-160 it's got a solid hotshoe locking mechanism like that of a Canon flash. The 1/4" thread on the side of flash is awesome and makes lining up the flash in an umbrella way better, the fact that the thread pops out if mechanically stressed is great. Folks complaining about that (such as the zero star review here) are missing the point -- normally it would be your flash's hotshoe/foot that would break (I've broken several on Nikons), which leaves you way worse off. Lumopro customer services is great, I had to warranty a LP-160 and they were great. I haven't yet tried them using them with ttl on a Canon so can't comment on that.
