Great Heater
I have four of these. Some came from West Marine, some came from Amazon. They are finished in different colors but otherwise identical as far as I can tell.We use them to help heat the camper when it gets really cold out. We use on to add additional heat to an office room that the furnace doesn't seem to quite get warm enough. I use one on my Sail boat to keep the plumbing from freezing during cold snaps. We use one in the bathroom to get it up to toasty warm without having to heat the rest of the house too hot. They are designed to not get too hot or tip over. They are well made in Canada not the country that begins with Ch. They are expensive for a floor heater but they are worth it. Mine work without worry.

Quality, Durability, Adjustable Power, Quiet, Forced Heat
As an engineer, I am forced to find better, more efficient, capable electronics and apply them. So finding this unit has been a great discovery. Have used MANY portable heaters including quartz, ceramic, oil filled, etc. This unit is excellent! Perhaps one of the best forced heat style units..Unit is compact, mostly made of metal, and has flexible power settings. Most competiting units are primariliy to all plastic which is not as durable or predictable. This unit cost more, but IMO is worth the additional cost.Noise level is less than many forced air units. The lowest heat settings (1,2) are quite low and very acceptable. One thing the unit does is force the heated air forward, so it destributes faster and further throughout the room. This feature is great as the heat from most others stays around the unit. I actualy use a seperate electric fan with my oil filled units to distribute the heat more evenly.Power usage is flexible and it fits my limited power. Working in an RV, I need to accommodate poor to little available AC power. This unit's flexibility avoids unnecessary circuit breaker resets in the middle of the night.AS TESTED :For my voltage @ 119VAC measured...SETTING OFF ~NO GHOST WATTAGE! (ELSE <1WATT!!)SETTING FAN ~22WATTS (HIGH FAN, NO HEAT)SETTING 1 ~560WATTS (LOW FAN, LOW HEAT)SETTING 2 ~780WATTS (LOW FAN, MEDIUM HEAT)SETTING 3 ~795WATTS (HIGH FAN, MEDIUM HEAT)SETTING 4 ~1195WATTS (HIGH FAN, HIGH HEAT)Your wattage may vary a little due to your power and house wiring.Again, excellent unit!!! Highly recommend.

Great little heater which moves a lot of air
This is the third heater I decided to try in our RV. I tried a quartz heater like Mr. heater, I tried an oil filled radiant heater and both of these fell short. I received this heater yesterday and temperatures dipped to 25° last night. I had to wake up and turn the heater down twice. This little heater works way better than I had expected. The only downfall, it is a bit loud. One thing I noticed, this is more of a blower style fan and really works well to heat the room. If there isn’t a high CFM fan built into the heater it obviously won’t move much air. The sound does not bother me a bit as it really works great to heat my RV quickly. The sound does not bother me a bit as it really works great to heat my RV quickly. It is also very small and I am able to set it on top of my stove when I go to bed and keep the walkway clear in the RV. I can’t say how dependable it is yet but I will make another review once this heater has been up and running for a while. So far I am absolutely impressed!

Small and Compact
I love this heater unit. It’s small and compact and fits in small spaces. The heat it gives off is great! I definitely recommend for small confined spaces.

One of the Best Small Electric Heaters
This is the same unit which West Marine sells with a tan paint job and a much higher price. Occasionally they have them on sale. It is the best small electric heater I have found. It has three heat levels (500 - 900 - 1200 watts) and two fan speeds. The controls are mechanical which means that you can control it with an external clock or thermostat and it does not shut down and forget its settings if the power goes out for a moment. Most of these small heaters now have computer chips which lose their minds when the power goes out. The higher fan speed moves quite a lot of air and is still fairly quiet although not silent. The thermostat is not very good and fails before the rest of the unit does. I control it with an external thermostat (good ones cost more than the heater) and when the internal one causes trouble, I put a jumper around it. That gets me two or three more years out of the unit. Eventually, the over-temperature switch starts cutting out which means that the motor bearings are getting stiff and the fan is not moving enough air. I use them heavily on a boat and RV and have been through several. They have never failed in a way that was dangerous or especially troublesome.

A good, high quality unit with a loud-ish fan
Build quality excellent - rare in these times; that is why it gets five stars. The fan is loud, too loud for the home office. I would not have bought this had I realized how loud it would be, but there are reviews that warned of this; now there is one more, so I ding myself one star, not the heater. It is such a high quality unit, I will find another location for it rather than return it.Controls and thermostat work well, and I will have no problem leaving this running unattended at the lower heat settings (I wouldn't let ANY electric heater run unattended at its highest setting). Again, the fan is loud, but there are no un-fan noises, like rattles and hums and such that indicate poor quality. The safety features seem to be as good, or better than most. There is a temperature fuse, and a resetting temperature switch. There is no need for a tip-switch as It is impossible to tip over because of its low CG. The heat output seems a bit lower than others I have that advertise the same wattage, but a watt in is a watt out. I have not measured the current consumption, but if I did, I expect it would be lower than the ones I am comparing it to. That in itself adds a bit to the safety. Oh, and it has a nice, high quality cord.
